I'd recommend more ram, like the dude before said. I get lags with 8GB ram! My spec is basically the same bar gfx card (8800gtx) and ram (8gb ocz) and vista x64; handles max very nicely. Rendering with mental ray with 4 cores is a dream

I was lucky, I got 8GB for about £220, ram prices were rock bottom around july.

Edit- I just saw you put 4GB in original spec which is what I meant, thought it was 2GB, nevermind!

You get lags with 8GBs of ram? If you do then you really need to bring your scene density down and find short cuts there is no way you need that much ram and especially with it lagging.

To the OP: 4GBs max spend more money on HD space and best GFX card you can afford especially if your using MudBox.

Arent the 320MB 8800GTS soon to be shelved, with only the 640MB ones available. Would it be worth waiting a little bit for those (I have no idea how long until they are due though...).
