Hi I have an 8400GS attached to my TV via S-Video. I am trying to set a custom resolution.

In the nVidia Control Panel I can quite easily add a custom resolution (720x480), and it gets me to test the settings before I OK them. Trouble is, once I've OKed them, there isn't anywhere where I can actually select to use those new settings. The resolution slider still only has 800x600 and 1024x768.

My question is, how do I actually set the custom resolution I have created?

Thanks,

Michael.

From the nvidia control panel

=> Manage custom resolutions
=> Allow modes not exposed by the display
The standard PAL TV display is 720*576

If you have a widescreen TV this will not look right as the output assumes a 4:3 picture. You can put in 16:9 front end parameters into custom resolutions e.g. 1280*720. This will look terrible when looking at a desktop as it scales the picture but OK when looking at dvds/movie files

Yes I've done all that but I can't find a way to select the resolution I've input. Before you can use your custom resolution settings, you have to test them. It tests them (successfully changing the resolution) then pops up a message saying my settings were successfully applied, would I like to keep them? I answer yes, and it changes back to the default 800x600. How do I then set it permanently to the 720x480 is what I need to know.

Tried lookin under "list all modes" tab?
