Jason Plato hurt in supercar fire

would have thought they would have handled it better

they should have had plenty of experience of fire after setting fire to the top gear warehouse :D

Yeah he's by far the best of the presenters and at least he's a bona-fide racing driver as opposed to Tiff & VBH, neither of whom have amounted to anything.

Yeah racing drivers do tend to be like that.... I guess Tiff and TBH are hardly track legends but they both know how to drive. The real problem is tho that fifth gear just isn't really that entertaining. They have tried to emulate or sometimes even outdo top gear but without the amusing presentation from Clarkson, May and Hammond it just aint that great to watch.

Tiff & VBH have track experience, more then the top gear guys but it doesnt make them better presenters obviously.
Tiff used to race a lister jaguar I think and got a chance to try out for f1 at some point?

I obviously couldn't take my hands off the steering wheel whilst braking and my right hand is more badly burnt than my left
Cant these cars brake straight?

Tiff is actually a proper racing driver

hes done a fair bit here and there before he found his way onto top gear. He's come second in the GT car championship, has raced at formula ford / 3 and F1 and done some other GT stuff, including comming 3rd at le mans and racing for porsche and lister. He also raced for Nissan in the BTCC when the primeras were king. He was never going to be one of the all time motorsport legends, but he has talents far far above that of the average journalist.

VBH was never a racing driver, she did a bit of karting and became a motorsport instructor at 17. hardly the most prestigious of racing careers ...

VBH was never a racing driver, she was a nobody untill she got onto Top Gear, and only because of that, got track experience.
he did some races in the FIA GT3 European Championship in 2006 for Barwell Motorsport which is ran by his brother Chris.

I saw her at the Silverstone BTCC last year as a guest appearance for the Porsche cup, and she was hopelessly slow. Racing driver no, presenter yes :)
