Looks better than the Crysis beta at least, performs a lot better too. Shadows? Well I can't say I've looked out for any, it's not a concern on a game as fast as UT.
 
Meh each to their own, I personally think it looks fantastic as does crysis and cod 4, will be buying all 3 :)

i know , but as i said i have played it and wasnt that impressed , its just a beta , and yes its as smooth as silk , but i dont think the game engine has to prosses half as much details as cryengine? i dont want to seem alone here in thinking this game doesnt look anywhere near as good as the hi res videos we were shown ? in that yes the game looked cracking , but here textures are grainy and "flat" player animation was same , take the facial animations in tf2 or the new source engine , the deatails are incredible , but this is just a beta , and there is no option for ultra textures so i will reserve judgment till then , as of just now i have inunstalled it ! sacralige? maybe but i wont play it that often as it is in this form
 
Are they even the maxxed out in the demo? the demo for ut2004 didnt have the hi res textures to keep the file size smaller.

But anyway, who cares, the game plays great
 
The crysis engine is more for outside jungle remdering isn't it? UT3 is more urban based mixed, i dunno what i'm talking about, but i'm about to join u folks in drooling over this demo.

Loving those screenies.

And hey i'd rather he compared it to crysis than bloody halo 3.
 
Well if your playing because of the graphics then your playing for the wrong reasons, this is UT at its finest, its so enjoyable to play and the bots are very good.
 
Don't worry, some people just LIKE to disagree. I think it's looks great as well as playing great, gameplay doesn't suffer because you like eye candy, good job to Epic.
 
Epic are fantastic really, they wowed me with Gears on the 360 and they have equally done it on PC with UT3. :)

I just cannot believe this runs so well on the 8800 cards, I just didn't expect it, it's a huge leap imo.
 
Same, honestly I cannot wait for Gears of War either. I really hope it's a hit with PC gamers because I love it on my 360 but it just calls out for a mouse and keyboard :D.

what worries me is it's said that keyboard/mouse will be compensated for. that was on pre order too till not long ago.
