UT3 Demo - Friday

Bit late to the party, but I downloaded this yesterday, having finally got a PC capable of running it...wow. I was pretty put off initially by the graphics - looked like a great engine, but it didn't look very UT in screenshots. But in motion, in game...brilliant, I love it! Only played against the bots so far, partly to get back to grips with UT games, partly because I'm terrible. But I'll get myself onto the internet sometime for some proper games, if I get time. :p


Now I need to trawl back through this thread for the bits that I've skimmed over to see if I've missed anything useful. :o
 
Just had a go of trying the instagib mod and it feels very close to how I remember the original UT :)
After a long sabbatical I think I might be back into UT again :D
 
anyone still playing this? i play it every other day for a match or too and enemy down says im ranked 3000~ish. How many people are playing?
 
From what I've seen going from 45-60 fps is a lot smoother and playable than in a lot of other fps games I have played. I only get fps that low when the map is still loading when playing online for the first 10 seconds or so though. Playing on LAN earlier it loaded up straight away cruising along at around 90-100 fps.
 
My brother tried installing this, only to be confronted with a message telling him there's not enough space on his hard drive. There's over 70Gb free on there (checked that myself), so I dunno what's up with it. It's his F drive and not his C, that's the only thing I could think of, but the C drive is a small and old hard drive with very little free space. Any ideas for him? :(
 
Yup, same problem I had. To install the demo you need to have the 1.4gb free on your C drive as well, I can only assume it dumps all the temp files there! Really annoyed me tbh
