So last night it was dark in a small unlit private car park I was turning round by reversing into 1 of the narrow garages and as I pulled out I caught the car on the corner of the garage :( resulting in this:

Any ideas on how much that's likely to cost to get repaired? I don't think that's going to T-cut out!
As far as I can tell it's not dented just badly scraped.

thanks

thanks for the replies, given me some idea..

I'll try and get some quotes over the weekend.
It was definitely an expensive mistake!

When i damaged my front bumper in a similar way on one of my previous cars I just painted it with a brush and some hammerite you couldnt notice it unless you went within about 2 feet of it and plus the rest of the cars paintwork was shoddy anyway :p

It depends where in the county you are. Bodyshop prices vary massively between the North and the South. In Edinburgh I could get that done for £150 while in Southampton it would be nearer £300. There was an article on MSN cars today actually about the North/South divide of motoring labour prices....

I had a scrape like that and a nasty crease in the front passenger door fixed for £300 on my Mondeo with a large area painted so it should be a fair bit cheaper than that :).

thanks again for the replies

i'm in the Midlands, was hoping to get a few quotes this morning but got delayed so will have to wait until next week

I've had 2 quotes so far...

£594.23 and
£619.20 (or £350 cash at that place!)

More than I wanted to pay

It only looks like paint work ... personally I'd rather spray some black paint over it or stick a decal on it or something cheap. It wont look pro but still them quotes could buy a second car. :/

Wow. You'd be better off driving to Scotland. I hear in Glasgow you can get a panel sprayed for £60.

I really do not understand why your quotes were so high. Way way too high. Are they claiming they need to replace the wheel arch?
