which mobo should I be looking at if I go quad core?
few people have suggested the pk5-e and what about the striker extreme or p35c?

Pretty much anything P35. Amongst the P35 boards you generally find you pay more money for more features and usually better chipset cooling. I like the Abit IP35-Pro and the Gigabyte P35-DS4 Rev. 1.0 as although the Rev. 2.0 clocks well, it runs a fraction hotter.

In what way? Both allow you to save and reload CMOS profiles from CMOS memory itself.

Which boards are we talking about Mr. WJA96, because I can't see this option within Gigabyte Boards. ie. saving profiles either on a usb stick or Preset allocations.

F11 to save to the list of saved profiles, F12 to load from the list of profiles.
