Could someone check this car for me

Ive seen loads about and i think they look good, I'm going to view it tomorrow so if its a mess i wont buy it.

Looks OK to me, obviously cant see swirl marks in a photo like this but I'm not too bothered about that. If it really is noticeable ill detail it, Ive always wanted to have a go at it anyway.

Why would you not be bothered about a car covered in loads and loads of scratches?

Genuine question becuase most people appear not to be bothered, but the second the sun shines your pride and joy looks a right state

If its really bad i would be bothered but tbh Ive seen a fair few black Focus's about lately and they look good even at this age. Its only sunny for 1 or 2 days a year in Britain anyway :D. If it was really bad though surely it could be sorted out?.

I'm having second thoughts about this car now anyway. I keep thinking i should just buy a cheap £1500 car instead, but then I'm paying £1000 insurance on something i don't really like.

What about this one then?, id rather have black but this colour isn't too bad i guess. I think i will go for a Focus, it has to be better than a Saxo i was originally going to get.

Its only 7 miles from me as well. 2001 51 Reg FORD Focus 1.6 Zetec, ONE OWNER FROM NEW GENUINE 60,000 MILES WITH FULL DEALER SERVICE HISTORY COMES WITH FULL 12 MONTHS MOT TOTALLY ORIGINAL IMMACULATE EXAMPLE COMES WITH CLIMATE PACK AIRCON,P,A,S.REMOTE CENTRAL LOCKING, WARRANTY

£3,190

why do people on auto trader insist on using caps?, even emails Ive received are all in caps.

Wow your ST looks stunning :D

As said, dont like a deposit over the phone go see it, theres tons of foci out there you will easily find a black one if it sells.

Wow thepharcyde that looks stunning, see what i mean, black cars look tons better than any other colour. I'd like to get the 3 door but when i put 3 door and black in the same search on auto trader it comes up with 3 cars within 50 miles of me . All of which have pretty high mileage for the price.

What is the special edition based on, the zetec or LX?. Ive found a special edition in black 3 doors for £3800 private sale.

Yeah i decided that was a bad idea myself, it was just really so that the car wouldn't sell. Ill go and have a look tomorrow and see what it looks like. Anything i should look out for?.

Ohh there is something Ive spotted that looks a bit strange, I'll find the photo.

EDIT: Is it normal for there to be a no smoking sign at the side of dash?.

That is an airbag sign, no fwd facing car seats IIRC

Ahh cheers :D, its just my driving instructor had a no smoking sign stuck to the dash on his car because he had to. Was just a bit worried it could have been a learner car or something.

He bought that car either brand new or virtually new, that picture was taken some years ago. You are looking at cars up to 7 years old. It wont look like that. It will look good in the pictures, but close up it will look terrible.

Brand new, but that picture was taken 1 year or so after I took ownership. Any car which has been properly mopped will look like this! My pic does not look any better than the ops original pic

You are first of all assuming its got swirls/scratches a lot of dealers machine polish (some not very well however), of course you can't see them in a photo unless is a close up which is way you need to see it in person however if it does have them a proper machine polish will remove all the swirls in old paint and all but the deepest scratches. I did my old X plate Polo and the paint looked like new when I sold it last year.

Exactly :)

Black cars can look good when clean, how ever they dont stay looking clean for long but when they do I dont think any colour can beat it.
