Rugby Union World Cup (**Spoilers**)

It certainly wasn't a spectacular game but all credit to them for making it through. They've got their work cut out for them though since, with their seeming inability to score tries (I'm going to discount that 82 second one as it was pure luck), I don't see how they can possibly beat South Africa.

Wasn’t that said about the Aussies? Then the French? Guess where this is going ;)

The final is a different kettle of fish, England have shown their mental toughness can SA?

I would never have expected them to take down both the Aussies and France, but I don't see how they can expect to win with the same style of play since they're reliant on their pack being dominant, which it simply won't be against SA.

We might not have to. :p

You're right! I shouldn't have discounted the Argies so easily. I guess I was thinking that if Scotland can give them a reasonably tight game then a match vs SA would just be a bloodbath.

Didn't see the match but what an amazing result for England. Three weeks ago myself + around 12 other Irish lads were on a course in work. The English instructor who was a big rugby fan took some abuse about the state of the english rugby team. Now look where we are 3 weeks on... ireland gone home ages ago and England now in the final! Unbelievable stuff!

Well Done England, the French musr be sick of us Brits comming over there and doing them, as a Scotsman I was mighty proud off our achievements in football. And a Rangers supporter destroying their Top French outfit Lyon. Hust when they thought it was all over England do them at the Rugby also... Well done again, very solid performance, although I reckon the SA boys will give you a sterner test, but well worth a punt at the bookies.

Nice to see a non bitter Scot :)

Not really, either way it was a good game to watch, but sometimes we overcome our preduice and say well done, plus it was the French :D totally different story if it was someone else.... :D

Congratulations to England, at the start of the tournament I didn't expect you to make it to the final but there has been significant improvement between the first match and now. I can't say I found it a particularly exciting game to watch but then I had no real interest either way other than as a casual observer, I didn't even bother to support France much as the English in the pub were so outnumbered it didn't seem fair. :)

Here is hoping that South Africa - Argentina is a good game and filled with a bit more entertainment.

What a game, first half I was like WTH england might give this game away, the french were using great sets, nice lines imho they played a better game for that 40.
A m8 and me at half time said England need to get back to basic's use the first five ... and they did, well done ENGLAND.

Come on next weekend.

What is certain is that if Jonno misses the same amount of points and we give away any (silly) penalties we wont stand a chance against either Argie or SA

Pity we didnt get that 2nd try when we were soooooo very close

Hopefully it isnt "close but no cigar" :)

By that logic England shouldn't have even bothered turning up against Australia after losing 36-0 in the SA match.

What a turnaround for England in this tournament! If you said at the start that they'd be in the final you'd have been carted off to the nearest nut-house. And based on the first performance against SA you'd have never thought thewy could make it.

They just seem to have got better and better as it goes on and have played a really good contained game. Wilkinson was again great last night and more and more he makes these huge hits in defence.

Aye Vicar, le Frogs aren't having a good time of it of late mate:)
