The time is getting close (first car)

OK if the mileage isnt stated.... its definitely going to be high, especially from a garage. So i would avoid tbh. The engines are good, however anything with 80k plus i would avoid simply for resale value. Your gonna need one with lots of service history for sure, as if neglected, the engines can cause trouble as with most engines...

now im not sure on the engine in the one you have linked as they state its the 1299cc engine which would make it the 1.3 endura engine (horrible unrefined lumps in comparison with the 1.25 zetec)... another point is that Ford thought it would be a good idea to name one of its trim levels 'Zetec' aswell, so in this case when they call it a Zetec, im not sure if they are referring to the trim level or the engine... However, looking at it, it looks to be a very basic trim level, so I dont think it is a Zetec trim, probably more an encore spec...

I did a quick search for nice ones within 60 miles of your postcode...

Pretty good buy that tbh, full service history Ghia (so it will have PS, EW, CL etc), so it should be mechanically sound, only down point is the rust on the rear arch but I like said before, this is prone to the fiesta mk4, especially at that age. You really cant go wrong with that at the price tho!

This one also doesnt look too bad for the money, 80k with service history, long MOT and 6 months tax, looks in good nick, 1.25 zetec engine aswell... very good. 12 miles from you.

my favourite by far... low miles, top spec - even get the zetec alloys!, lady owner, vgc, long MOT and tax, 1.25 engine again... you wont be that for the price tbh! 44 miles from you and well worth a visit.

anyway have a gander! see what you think... :)

Thanks for that mate ! :)

I'm put off the top one by the colour really, is that purple

I like the second one, cant make out the number plate to get an insurance quote on confused tho :(

The last one is awsome!! Love it!! A quick insurance quote on confused comes up as just over £1k which is about £90 a month.

Not bad really, that car looks awsome :)

£1k is throw away car money. Resale value wouldn't concern me at all.

(I have never paid over £1k for a car before you think I am some rich person)

The Zetec engines are very reliable if serviced to schedule. The little Fiesta would probably be quite worn inside and out if high mileage though. I mean the seats, stone chips etc.

very true. however my first 1.25 fez was bought with resale value in mind, and over the 18months i owned it i lost about £50 on it.... however thats just my way of thinking, these cars are sought after in terms of first cars and therefore they seem to hold their value quite well if you buy right in the first place.

Camelot, its purple yes, actually called 'Samakand' to be specific, not the greatest colour no, but quite a nice metallic once polished and waxed.

Glad you like the last one! its very nice indeed and like i said, will be hard to beat! i would have loved that as a first car! however it wont hang around for long at that price and it wouldnt surprise me if it hasnt already been sold... thats an example of what you can get for your money if you look around tho. :)

Just looking for some advice really, haven't seen one this cheap in my area (the car is 5minutes away from me)

Does it sound an ok car? Bit worried about the milage?

Thinking of going round tomorrow to take a look with my dad.

Go with a Fiesta mate. Much better car than the puma!

Awww, really set on a puma now. I've fell in love with the looks! Would like to get a nice looking smal car like a puma whilst im still young :)

Going to view it tomorrow, just want advice if the puma in the link is a good deal :)

It seems fair. I wouldn't worry about the mileage too much, as its your first car, you won't keep it too long i'd have thought. No idea how the 1.4 drives but the 1.7 is great!

I did a search on here a few days ago and there was no problems with the 1.4. How long would you expect me to keep a first car? Id have liked to keep it at least 2 years? :)
