Hi guys I am at the level where I am driving the car and have that scanner which shows me weapons cache........

I get to the place where I crawl through the van and there is a rocket launcher...but how do I get it ?

Also I see C4 explosives but cant use them

Put a grenade under the metal panel on the floor, then stand on it ;)
 
-shorter then ep1, took me 15mins less and i wasn't really rushing in either.
I personally don't judge the quality of the game by its length. I agree it could be a bit longer, but only because what was there was so good.

-barney gets utterly forgotten about.
I agree, perhaps he could have been included a little, but tbh, he was one of my least favorite characters, so I doesn't bother me much.

-i dont think there was a single prop or texture that wasn't already overused back in 2004.
Whilst I can't admit to going around the game looking for samey and repeated textures, I agree in retrospect there was some similar stuff. However, the new country look and trees are very much new and improved on what there was in the original and ep1.

-level design was a bit bland, some of the vista views were very nice i would say ep1 had the best levels so far.
This was the one that struck me the most! Bland?? These had the best views and levels of all the games so far! Ep1 for me got pretty repetitive, as it was basically HL2 continued in the same place. A change of scenery made it a lot more interesting for me :)

-the fighting zombies section that went on for too long got old quick
Agree with you to a point here, although it was no way as long as Ravenholm which I didn't enjoy much from the original, at I found it more enjoyable than the underground sections from Ep1.

-1 new enemy thats nice, how about a couple more skins for the normal zombies, we had to kill about 500 of them and they all still wear the same labcoats they did 3 years ago.
Again, agree with you to a point, a few more enemies would have been nice, but its hardly a game breaker for me. The combine seemed to have have two skins, one blue eyes, another orange, which , although only a small change, made it slightly more interesting for me. I feel they should add more rebel skins though, and perhaps a few more zombie ones.

-FOV was too tight
To be honest, didn't notice that at all.

-lots of clipping errors involving dog
Again, didn't really notice that.

-perhaps its because ive just spent the week playing resistance but the hl2 weapons are so dull, even compared to hl1's superior selection.
I agree, the weapons do get a little repetitive, I was hoping for a new combine weapon or something to get my hands on, but ah well, can't have everything.

Remember that the valve team was split into 3 creating Ep2, Portal and TF2 at the same time, which was why it took so long to get out! Lets hope Ep3 comes out a bit quicker! :)
 
i think me and ep2 got off on the wrong foot which has given me some negativity towards it.

the first thing i saw when the game started was the river bed showing through the bottom of the train in what looked like nothing more then a clipping error.

i might play it again next week with a less cynical outlook.

adam baldwin as a rebel = awesome.

some of the character interaction was awesome such as the two rebels you meet while holding off the antlion's in the tunnels, nice banter.

'i got 10 of them!'
'we all got you idiot there was hundreds of them!'
 
Wow completed it great game...i was kinda gutted yesterday when I saw the spoiler in these forums "zomg he died, why they let him die, etc"

I quickly closed the forum and thought dam now I know whos gonna die........ruined story for me!

Then Eli dies I was like :eek:

I thought they was gonna kill of Gordon lol :o:p

also was I the only one going round killing the hunters inthe car ? :P

I dont think I could have done the last level without using the car to run over the hunters guarding each stalker ;)

a single rocket to the face dispatches them nicely as well.

I played the game through on Hard difficulty and it took a good few rockets to kill them. In the end I just ran them all over :D

I didn't use the car at all, well except to get to the Sawmill to start the battle off.

As soon as that happened, I backed off to the entrance to the silos and stayed there, within running distance of the nearest 3 spawn points for the "Magnuson Device".

Roll a grenade underneath the metal door, stand on it. Get the "Rocket Propelled Gordon" achievement :)
 
Near the start when you go into the room and Alyx sees a console and says she could use it to contact white forest or something, she then goes up onto a raised platform and throws down he Cable to put in the socket, it's under one of the things in there.
