properly pointless if you already have one, especially considering you have to realise your loss to sell the old one to buy the new one for no hope of a corresponding performance increase.
9 quid loss.
I can handle that
guessing you either got a very good deal on an old gtx or on the new one?
to be fair all in I got my current gtx for about £180 but still I'm not tempted because right now it'd cost me a lot of real money I could keep in my pocket.
Especially seeing as I don't have a pci-e 2 mobo anyway and thats even more cost. I know it'll work in an older mobo but really, whats the point?
Thoughts?
Not yet. Will do when games start lagging at full settings.
The smell of 65NM and xtra Sp is to much for me!
8800 GTS looks like a GTX killer TBH (just not worth the extra)
didnt you have the 320mb one, if so then definetly worth the upgrade (at least to 512) btw what res are you running at as apparently (XS info) the 8800gt is meant to run supremely with the gtx on lower resolutions (1680x1050) with not a lot of AA. just depends whether you can live with 2xAA/AF for a while.
Yes if there's a significant performance boost over my 640mb 8800 am talking at least 25 fps more across the board.Would be silly to hang on to the current gts's the prices are obviously going down a glass mountain if the new rev is a lot better.
I need to see cast iron benchmarks before making any decision there are many factors involved, such as, what if the 512mb gts is £260-£280 yet only say 10 fps better all comes down to price and performance gain.
Only the very obsessed would sell a gts for 200 and buy a new rev for 280 for a 10 fps increase.
Hold on do we even know if the new GTS will be 65nm?
I certainly don't believe or trust those fake benchmarks currently doing the rounds saying the 8800gt beats the 8800gts 640mb.Am not budging until i see a more reliable source.
