Top Gear Returns Sunday 7th October

Another quality episode from the Top Gear boys. :)

Some very funny moments this week, the news especially. :D

I want that Audi !

I just love the way Clarkson's boat was just the car with a engine bolted on while the other two were more elaborate and "smart" ideas. Fantastic.

It must be so much fun being a presenter on Top Gear....
There's a clip somewhere of an episode of Top Gear in which Richard Hammond recreated his first job, sat at a desk reading messages about sheep for BBC Radio. "It wasn't the best job in the world". It then cuts to him driving a car sideways at an unreasonable speed and shouting "This is the best job in the world!" It's obvious that he means it.

It's part of the attraction to viewers - the presenters obviously revel in their play/work.

Good episode but am I alone in thinking the Jason Plato stuff was a bit "off"?

The guy's been fairly seriously burned, a bit of sincerity wouldn't have gone amiss.
No, you aren't alone. I know that Clarkson wished him a speedy recovery, but I think that part was over the line.

i find 5th gear more entertaining, least they show CARS....TG have seemed to forgot about them and just repeat crap from other series in diff circumstances.

5th gear is as entertaining as slowly teasing your eyes out with a wooden spoon

they just repeat crap (low budget version) that top gear have done years previous

Just watched it. Awesome episode! The pipe bit had me in complete stiches, I was crying! The boat bit was also brilliant. Good stuff, can't wait for the next episode, shame it is not on next week!

As for the smoking thing - it is ok if its for TV or a stage production etc. :)

James May puffing on his pipe whislt relaxing in the arm chair..he looked so happy..it just made laugh so much

Funny episode but I did get a little annoyed with them when they turned back to the port all the time.

And I like the start in the car as it allows me to make a toilet break and fill my glass :p

Yeah I thought that too.

Very good episode though, most episodes of top gear make me laugh more than most 'comedy' programs!

Watching the BTCC Sunday Afternoon he didn't seem as badly burn't as some reports have made out, his face seemed fine, neck not so bad.

There was an interview with him from earlier in the week and you could clearly see the burn marks around his chin and lower face, I suspect the beard growth disguised them a bit. He also said the neck burns were full thickness ones, meaning skin & nerves totally dead and large scar will result.

Serious enough not to be made fun of tbh.

Yes - there's a specific exemption for "artistic integrity". Bet you don't hear that phrase used in conjunction with "Top Gear" very often...
I think the exemption is for situations where the smoking is required for authenticity. I hardly think TG would qualify under such an exemption and wouldn't be surprised if they got a bit slapped over it as some do-gooders will no doubt complain to the BBC.
