right, thought i'd start to lean how to use PS properly, and do some airbrushing (using the search on this forum i found out about 'photoshop mama') it's not quite as good as hers, but then again i'm blowed if i'm forking out money for some of her elaborately expensive bits and bobs :p

so here is the untouchd from her site:

and here she is, butchered, 1 hour later:

C&C welcome (as long as we forget the latter 'C' :D)

but yeah, what do you think for a first real attempt?

Looks un-natural and a lil bit pinky pornish if you want an honest opinion. I believe this original shot only needed some levels and curves work and a tiny bit of colour saturation and only one correction on the lil sore to the left of her mouth.

Freckles on a flamedheeded flower like her should be harnessed not PS'd out

I think you've done what almost everyone does when first trying out - gone a bit too far.

As a quick fix why not put the original image in a new layer over top and turn its opacity right down to something like 10% to give the image back some of its rawness.

Also the lipstick is just really very wrong - its the colour that's killing it.

I just had a play with it for 1 min. healed out the spot, corrected the white ballance with levels, tiny bit of curves, tiny bit of colour saturation in hair and eyes using feathered selections. I could go on and post it up but its bedtime and i'm pooped! :)

her nose is off centre. It's in the original aswell - she just has a bad nose - fix it! Notice that the centre of her nose ends to her left of her philtrum, when it should be central with it.

The eyes in the edited version are causing me the most concern.

They look like you have used one of the 'artistic' filters on them. A little bit of colour correction to bring out the blue in them and maybe an unsharp mask to make then even more defined, would have really done it for me. :)

This is a very very quick go by me, i used the spot healing tool and then the blur took to tidy up the healing.

If i were to spend more time on it i think it may look better.

This one is fiddly and I got bored, cleaning up the freckles is the hardest/time consuming part and I didnt do enough before applying the gaussian blur layer.

I think I may have followed the same tutorial you mentioned in the first post a long while back, I dont like the way she does the eyes as I think in most cases they look too artificial

Is it just me or does everyone want to turn this poor girl into a porn queen? lol ;)

I know gingers can be a bit feisty but this is mad, i bet the next edit is complete with a heavy facial or possibly a badly aimed pearl necklace lol! :D

Hmm to me it looks shopped

What ya think of this one, i spent more time on it and made it a little darker.

But i think it looks more natural

Not entirely different teaboy5's i just felt it need to be a little more natural and a few more things done to it.
Being your first effort not bad, however the first one you did does make her look like a prossie.
Dont over do the smoothing of the skin either, or the saturation of lips and eyes.
Also dont blur key shapes on the face like under the nose.
