My friend was at the final of the Valencia Euro Championships (PES2006) at the weekend, unfortunately he got pumped 6-1 in the final :p

He got a free copy of the PS3 version and says "I got this game on Saturday for the PS3, unfortunately there is quite a lot of slowdown in parts of the game, particularly at replays and set pieces. Even during the game it can look jittery at times, having played it for a while though Im just starting to get used to the jitteryness and it isnt bothering me too much!"

He went on to say "Seabass said the XBox slowdown isnt as bad as the PS3's slowdown, he wanted to delay the PS3 version but was under pressure to meet the release date. I'll get the 360 version when I'm down at the media launch in London next week, cant beat getting a free game laugh.gif

Newcastle and Tottenham are licensed this year in the EPL. Arsenal have a weird top that is all red with a big white stripe down the middle."

Oh no you dih'ent!

I'd say it's surprising to see slowdown in the PS3 version, but it's not as it's frequent in most titles. What is surprising is that your made has said Seabass said it's worse in the PS3 version than the Xbox360 version when all we've heard throughout production is that the PS3 is the better of both.
However, it would explain the lack of a demo.

dont think i personally would be able to play pro evo on the 360pad , too used to ps2 pad :( ,

is it coming too PC ?

There has been similar posts on pesfan. One guy said it was really bad where another guy said that it was fine.

From the PS3 videos I've seen there wasn't any slowdown so I find it surprising. Also the fact that Seabass comes out less than 2 weeks before release saying he's going to put more effort into next years version is shocking.

Even at its faults it's still PES and I really enjoyed the demo. Usually these things are blown out of proportion before release and like last year the 360 had an update which fixed the slowdown on single player so it should be okay.

I was surprised as well, i have no reason to doubt him though, the guy is pretty well entrenched in all things pro evo, he's back down for the launch next week and will get his free 360 copy then.

What he did say was the ps3 online is going to have the same lobby system as the ps2/pc version before which is a bit annoying, meaning you have to log in, i had it ordered for both ps3 and 360, but im considering holding fire on the ps3 one now till reviews come out.

Has it been built up from the ground for the PS3 or just changed from the 360 version, if the 360 has some slowdown I presume the PS3 will have the same.

I read an interview where seabass said the ps3 and the 360 had the same code, possibly its a similar situation to fifa/nba etc, where they run 60fps on 360 but 30fps on ps3.

360 pad > xbox pad > PS2 pad > Mega drive pad > snes pad > nes pad > amiga controller > mac 1 button mouse > ps3 controller

ps. I am not a fan boy of Microsoft, just the controller

Here is part of an interview with IGN and seabass about Pro 08

IGN: PES makes its debut on PS3 this year. How satisfied with the game are you compared to the Xbox 360 game?

Seabass: This year the 360 and PS3 versions of the game are exactly the same so I'm satisfied with both. I think it's a good start.

IGN: In the PS3 version we've played we noticed some slow-down in the game, plus the crowd and stadiums aren't as polished as some of the on-pitch features. Will you look to rectify this in the next game?

Seabass: Of course. To be honest I don't think the slow-down is that bad compared to the 360 and as I said, we don't create just a PS3 game, we created both together. But when we compared them directly we were shocked because the PS3 has a little bit more slowdown and we don't really know why.

IGN: Which version do you prefer?

Seabass: I like both, but I don't really like the 360 pad that much. But then I don't really like the PS3 pad either - it's too light and the triggers don't feel right. I have been thinking of ways to only use two shoulder buttons instead of four so it would work better on PSP as well as 360 and PS3. I'm still looking into ways of using the L2 and R2 buttons less.

Looks like the OP's mate was right
