Hi,
Thinking about getting sky multi room, for the bedroom and the kitchen, does that mean more cables or another sky dish?

As far as i'm aware, it would mean a few extra wires and a new Sky box, but not a new dish. However, it may be different from when i last checked. :)

Hi,
Thanks for the reply:) Can you have sky + in the sitting room and a sky box in the bedroom?

Will sky put the cables under the floor or out side of the house?

well worth doing imho

you buy sky + and when they come to install, get them to recycle the old box and put it upstairs for multiroom. its what we did

and with multiroom only able to record two channels, its very handly to leave 2 things recording downstairs, for example Top Gear on Beeb 2 and something on Discovery, and still be able to channel flick upstairs.

Hi,
Thanks MrLOL:)

Does anyone know if you can if you can have the sky box at one end of the room and the tv at the other end of the room?

Sky will take the cheapest route, if you want a specific, or tidy installation, then you'll have to pay an independant to do all the cabling for you. They can install the new lmb as well if you need one. You'll need at a quad for sky+ and standard multiroom.

Hi,
Thanks for all the replies. Does sky multi room cost £10 for each room? if it does I think I'll just buy a SLx Link System for the tv in the kitchen.

How do they work?

We still got our old box from when we changed to Sky+. Just need to find someone who can run the cable upto the bedroom.

Was planning to do this and also buy a HD box off fleebay to replace our + box.

Just turned off movies so can afford the extra for HD and Multiroom.

It means another cable through the wall and if you need more than a 4 way block (or if your dish has an older 2way block) you'll need another one on the dish.

And a multiroom subscription with sky

Get sky multiroom in mate, that way you will get free install. Pay 10quid for the first month and if you can't justify the price xc it! If they don't let you just write in then it will be xc, trust me ;).

Worth it for the free install and decent freesat.
