I pitch to Peter Jones in 12 days

My problem? I have none with you. Why are you going on the defensive so suddenly? Is that how you react to someone that questions what you're saying or doing? I'm sure the "dragons" wouldn't appreciate that. ;)

All i'm doing is trying to understand what you've done for you to be posting in the manner your are (see previous post). You went on a TV show with your idea and a year later you're still sitting on it - yet making yourself sound like something has actually happened; which again I can't see anything in your posts to back this up. Perhaps you could clarify.

Just to add; I think it's genuinely great that you've done what you have and made your family proud.

Perhaps this is why these threads were not updated as literally nothing had come of it. At the end of the day I could get on dragons den with a unique idea but there is no guarantee it's going to succeed at the end of the day. Since he's still sitting on it a year down the line I doubt it has much chance. I really hope he proves me wrong though :p

no no, that isn't my website... that is my companies new website (under a refurbishment of design - they are coders, not designers) But the tool itself is revolutionary in our marketplace, I helped along with it. not just anybody could make that, it is the produce of 10 years work in the industry. But it's irrelevant as its not MY produce :) I feel that you have got the wrong end of the stick.

And who said that I am standing out from the rest? that isn't my intention...I originally posted a year ago about a potential opportunity and this is my follow up to its success.

So how did you help along with this?

Also being a young entrepreneur I would have thought that would have been your intention, to stand out from the rest ;)

I am on the defensive as I was asked to update with what happened and I have done just that. I didn't expect people to nit pick and try to put me down from a simple post of my experiences over the last year. Plenty has happened to me, but obviously as I am not making millions of £'s it is questionable at most with regards to my progress.

To me, this was a special success which I shared with the OcUK community waay back - some people thought it was nice to know about my progress, where others seem to have taken off on the wrong foot and seem to be trying to squash my attempt at sharing a life changing experience

I actually posted a new thread ;) and then another thread when my mentor died as I felt that people who had followed it since day one would be interested.

Anyways, I don't have time to keep updating a thread on a computer forum  hehe that should be my model answer!

Before anybody pipes up and says I have gone quiet - I am off to play halo 3 :D

I see you on here a lot I'd of thought if you did have anything happening you would be on here posting like a shot ;), what kind of excuse is that :p. I'll look for that other thread. :)

Ok, then i just wish you all the success in the future. I'm not trying to squash anything you've done/doing.

the kid is a bit naive and comes across a bit cocky tbh, expect to get mocked on a public forum.

talking about future achievements generally rubs people the wrong way, better to do it and then talk about it :)

Ok, thats the way it came across, I shall avoid replying to interest within a thread next time

Im sorry but I DID do it, I pitched to Peter Jones a year ago... I think you have missed the point.

Plus I am not a kid... and I am here.. no need to talk about me as if I am not going to read it

Come on then spilleth the bean, how much is one earning at such a tender age?

Now that would be telling ;) Is it not a personal question, when you ask somebody their salary?

I dont think he means actual jazz :p

Best of luck m8, looks like you had a dream and went for it

Good on ya

My god, I'm actually gonna have to agree with that Zefan impersonator, everyone here is lacking a sarcasm detection mechanism.

note: I know its Zefan with his name changed. Its more sarcasm. You'll get used to it. ;)

PS. Booner, good luck with the career. I had the choice of Uni or a good job, and it took me years to get back the same career course that was originally on offer, doing what you enjoy is always best, even if you don't end up a multimillionaire.

Dude im so tired it just doesnt register with me :D

your a print consultant then? 35k p/a

so is your company a reseller for Webmart? or do you own Webmart?

as a reseller surely thats not to entrep...can spell a nureal .... ??

good luck to you and all that though :)

Nope, for Webmart itself :) Cracking company! Slightly different than a print consultant as I work on the POS production team rather than just purely sales, I also do some inhouse graphic design (so I do from pre production to post production) :)

Fella's give the guy a break he came back and posted because the thread was dragged up.

The guy pitched his idea to Peter Jones, can't remember if he got the investment.

He got lots of offers to do stuff that most people would dream of, his grandfather died, which understandably would make you fell a tiny bit meh, being that the grandfather was the inspiration for the idea.

Then his mentor died who was helping him and supporting him, even more meh now with no support

So he took the decision to put his 'pitched idea on the back burner' until he felt he had more support and experience.

The offer he took was more than likely one that a graduate would be lucky to get, hence being 3/4 years ahead of his peers - also starting on the career ladder 3/4 years ahead of your peers (if in the right industry) will put your earnings at a higher level than a graduate entry position.

The position also gives him the real world experience he needs, experience uni peers wont get.

Sorry to hear of your losses, but well done on everything!
