I've owned a PS3 since just after release and have never really had a bad word to say for it, its had some shocking ports but nothing compared to skate.

AA is none existent and jaggys galore, and frame rate is lucky if its above 25 at most points and I would think drops as low as 10. I couldn't believe it, even the intro was jerky in places. a total disappointment

is it just me, what's other peoples experience with skate. on the PS3.

Isn't by EA? Says it all really, all there PS3 games are terrible.

All PS3 ports are terrible, minus DiRT. EA is a major culprit though.

Orange Box should be interesting then, seeing as it done by EA.

A quote taken from an interview with Valve themselves
Edge: Going back to thinking about different platforms, we notice that you aren’t developing the PS3 version of The Orange Box in-house. Do you have some horror stories to share?

GN: I think the people who have The Orange Box on the PS3 are going to be happy with their game experience. We’ve done the PC and 360 versions here and EA has a team doing the PS3 version – and they’ll make the PS3 version a good product; EA got the job done in putting a lot of people with PS3 experience on the project. But I think it’s harder to get it to the same standard as the 360 and PC versions.

Edge: A while ago you said that you thought Sony should do a 'do-over' with PS3. Do you still think that?

GN: Absolutely. I think [PS3 is] a waste of everybody’s time.

Orange Box is fantastic, but it's something i'd only like to play on my PC.

You could get away with HL2 on a console, but TF2 and especially Portal really need a mouse and keyboard imo. Some of the movement in Portal is very difficult indeed on the advanced maps.

I must be missing something, I haven't stopped playing skate demo. Haven't got the money to buy the game atm but will asap. Framerate is perfect most of the time. Get a new PS3, it seems to be broken.

The demo on the PS3 is substantially worse than the 360 demo.

I haven't even seen the XBOX360 version, but I did try the PS3 demo for Skate, and have to say I was shocked at how crap it was!

All PS3 ports are not terrible however.
They were to start with, but I can't find fault with games like Sega Rally!

V1N.

The difference is, the framerate on the 360 is perfect all the time, as it should be on the PS3. It's really quite poor when a game like skate. suffers from framerate issues.
