Out of general interest what's Kimi no eizen ni? (the closest that searches are coming back with is Rumbling Hearts (a very happy series (not))).

What I actually ment was Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, I haven't been able to watch it in over a year.... I'm not sure if anyone else will find it as horrid as i did but it really push the "Cry like a little girl" button.

I see that the latest issue of Neo gave good scores to the upcoming Azumanga Diaoh UK Boxset and Manga.

Its ok i guess. Has massive amounts of jokes a none japanese would not get like one of the girls is called "Osaka" for no reason what so ever. One of thier teachers is a total lolicon though, he's great.

edit: on Subs vs. Dubs ... with me it depends a lot on the series. Some are ok with dubs and some you have to definitely watch with subs. For instance with Love Hina I have to watch this with subs as i'm sure there is an error with the dub track in the last few episodes regarding who had exactly what to who when regarding Tokyo U. Dubs are ok especially if you are having to do something else at the same time so can't concentrate fully on what is going on.

That just proves your not watching enough. After a hundred or so series (No im not joking) you start to pick things up.

One day i'll count how meny hours ive wasted watching the stuff but between three just series im over 300 hours.

Yes I agree, it's a powerful series which is not the easiest to watch. I'll probably watch it again but not for quite a while.

I'm not Japanese but I find it absolutely hilarious, (I have the R1 boxset) ... it's one which I can watch again and again .... do I probably get all of the in jokes and cultural references .... probably not but I still find it enjooyable ;)

Oh yes I agree :) ... I've only really been watching a significant amount of anime for the last year or so and have built up a reasonable amount (which is due to increase significantly tomorrow:D).

I was under the impression they nicknamed her Osaka because she came from Osaka?

I guess you might not have picked up on that watching it subbed though as they gave her a stereotypical deep south drawl for the dub highlighting the "she comes from Osaka" bit.

I think that even without the drawl its clear from the period from when she's introduced through to when she gets her nickname given to her ...

Osaka is legendary, don't know what episode it is but it's the one where they're all looking at the noticeboard seeing what classes they're in and she's so thick she forgets that her real name isn't Osaka, has me in stitches everytime :D.

On another note, just finished She, The Ultimate Weapon, definitely reminded me of Eva with all the angst going on, was an enjoyable story though and certainly makes you feel for the characters at times.

Hi guys, Never really watched any Anime before.A few weeks ago I saw Bleach on the Divx stage 6 site.Been hooked on it ever since lol.
Where the best place to buy (English Dub) Bleach DVDs?
Also is there any over Anime similar to Bleach?

I remember now shes given the nickname osaka not becasue shes from osaka but the hyperactive one decides she does not behave like the sterotypical osakian and gives her the name with some rediciolous justification. But she has actually not met anyone from that island before.

Still probably wrong though, far to cute for my dark tastes. A psycopath and a few graphic murders would have made me pay attention to it more.

On another note will someone please spec me something dark and unholy to watch, everything over the summer has been horrid and cute.

Lain is on my to-watch pile for tonight.

Watch Saikano if you really want to be depressed. There might be the occasional cheerful moment but only because they make the bad things look worse.

I have to agree there, it's one of the harder series to watch.

Failing that Now and then, here and there (if it's still available, iirc it's oop in R1 so only available with retailers who had stock on hand).

Now and then, here and there I have seen. Was quite good if memory serves me (Lack of water, war, child slaves and the water sprit)

i'll give Saikano a go cheers :) - Oh Wiki looks like this is going to be good.

It comes close :)

Whens the best time to watch FMA film/s is it like between certain episodes to keep to the timeline or is it best watching after u seen all the series episodes?

The fma movie is set several years after the end of the series so thats probably the best spot to watch it.

I didn't like the film because just like just about every other film thats released after the close of a series. They don't actually finish anything or close up any of the plot holes, its just an extra long episode leaving you right where you were before any of it even happened.

That really gets on my goat...

I didn't feel that way about it. I don't want to go into it though in case I spoil it for some one.

Well the story did continue along but thats not what I mean.

I would have liked a little bit more info about the "gate" and the reasons for the diffrences of the two sides. I have a lot of small questions regarding these types of things.

Not one of the "H..." realised that through thier interactions with others they gained their humanity (Hot and prickley is a good example) and thats kind of sad.

It's hard trying to expain what im unhappy with without spoiling this absoloutly 1st class top notch anime series that kids sould be forced to watch in japanese while in school (Warp them while their young).

The film just felt that it had be tacked on to me.

Had one or two things added to my "to watch" pile today ... basically its a few months of US orders which have shipped via my parents as its easier for them to deal with the customs charges and then invoice me ...

(dodgy phone pic) :eek::rolleyes::D

There should be a bit more, (say another half height pile), but the postal strikes appear to have delayed some things so they weren't there in time to be brought up now, (I'll pick them up from them at Christmas). This adds on to my current too watch list which is big already, (need to watch the bulk of Madlax, Samurai Champaloo, various other offers from ADV and some other bits and bobs ... thinking about it the delayed stuff plus the still to watch stuff probably adds to another complete column

The Oh My Goddess Season 2 box and the Haruhi Suzumya boxes are of course mostly air, (although I do have disks 1 and 3 to join disk 2 in the OMG one) but the rest in the picture are full sets ... there's also a second pile (not shown) of OST's and jPOP cds ...

My dad will be getting a pile of disk 1's where I had that, liked the series and then it was cheaper to get the boxed set instead of buying the whole thing individually ... (I'm not just getting things blind here (in most cases!)).

You know what the scary thing is, I suspect I can ID a good number of them from just the bottom of the packaging (I can see Elfen Lied, Angelic Layer, chance pop sessions and I think Those who hunt elves and "his and her circumstances" with ease).

That's a bit of stuff to catch up on :)
I've almost beaten my backlog of new DVD's, just 1½ of Ranma S3, Tsubasa 1 and Haruhi 1-3 left at the moment

Where do you guys get the time? Don't get me wrong I'm really getting into Anime now, there is so much of it, what excites me most is discovering new stuff that is of interest to me.

I'm still finishing off Trinity Blood and have just started Hellsing, I just don't have the time to watch as much of it as i'd like to :(

Nope, I'll give you "His and her Circumstances" but not the rest, (although Angelic Layer is in the to watch list its not pictured, Elfen Lied has been watched already and is off on a shelf somewhere and I'm not familiar with the other two series). I'll give you that's its a rather poor quality pic which has been resized by the phone after Vista decided not to play nice with incoming IR connections.

Inoshishi - yes finding the new series which you find good is the best bit ... finding time to watch it all ... well yes that's always an issue ... I can normally do one to two disks a day during the week and more at weekends so this lot will take me months to catch up on and with things being added all the time ...

edit: of course it gets worse as some of them are continuations of series, e.g. OMG and MoHS, hence I'll probably rewatch the disks I already have to feed into the new ones plot lines ...

edit2: just checked my email folders and there's currently 6 box sets and 4 other disks in the postal system although the eta for most of them isn't till the end of the week/next week at the earliest ...
