i have set up half life 2 on my kids pc, their is 3 different kids playing the game, it looks as though the game saves are all in the one folder so when a differnet player plays all the game saves are available.

is it possible to have each person have their own save files without other people getting mixed up with which saves are theirs ?

Not sure where the save goes but if it goes in My Documents then yes you can have multiple saves based on the user that logs on. If it goes in the Steam / HL2 directory then no.

Not too hard to create more directories - just hassle to change them everytime someone wants to play.

Just set the my docs as private for each user. Then each set of saves will automatically go in a different folder.
And you don't need to buy more than one copy of the game for different logins

maybe you can suggest it on steam forums...hl2/css is always being updated so maybe they can add it in a future update.

Nah they go in the game folder.

here is where the save files are stored C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\User\Half-Life 2\hl2\SAVE so i cannot do anything with the my documents folder.

i could do as tombo suggested and make a save folder for each person and just swap it about each time a different person plays, probably the easiest fix

i dont login to steam the game is being played offline
