Meet: Southampton Nov 10th (Sat) 2007

Sounds very much like the engine room in brighton, a hole... but the only place in town with decent music :p

I'm interested.

For those from outside Soton considering public transport, Goblets is on Above Bar which is easy walking distance from the station. There's a whole bunch of pubs/eateries around there too.

My personal recommendation would be to meet in the bar in the (late?) afternoon before things get too busy, giving plenty of time and space for people to turn up and introduce themselves, and then go somewhere for food in the evening.

I've never actually been in Goblets myself but if it's like most places it will be pretty loud/heaving on a Saturday night which isn't always ideal for meeting complete strangers. But anyway that's just an idea - your thread, your rules :)

If I attend I may possibly be able to put up one or two people I've met at meets before, depending on what my fiancee says (she's a bit funny about 'them weird internet people')!

Clubbing sucks, but I might show.
Get Stu to come back down and you can both crash at mine :)

I'll vouch for this. It may sound boring, but actually having an opportunity to meet and talk to people really isn't such a bad thing. Those that want their clubbing have plenty of time to do that too. But, as already said, meet organiser has the final say. :)

Jesters is a whole lot worse than Dungeon. At least the floor isn't covered in vomit in Dungeon.

pfff doubt I'd come along even though I am local :p Specially if this turns into a Jesters trip. Theres nothing appealing about that place whatsoever

btw goldi, are you a solent student? judging by your location. or are you a standard not studenty resident?

nope - i moved down here after uni, when i got a job at the general hospital :)
we live (on the contrary to where i accidentally put myself on the members map) between Bedford Place and the common - it's not quite in Portswood or Shirley, i don't the area has a name.
