Seems to be running ok at 816 Mhz core and 1098 Mhz mem

Temp is 71c under full load

Does that sound ok?

Whats the max I could aim for (on air cooling)? By the way, ambient temp is around 20 in the flat.

That looks good for an overclock, id be happy with that.
Load temp is ok, but i wouldnt want it to get much higher.

The cards are fine at much higher temps than you would think, my 2900pro @ 820core and 1900mem sits at around 80-82 load which is perfectly acceptable these days for graphics cards

What sort of percentage increase (on average) in performance are you talking by increasing to your clocks over standard xt clocks? (game wise not 3dmark percentage increases).

It all depends on the card though, my 2900XT won't go over 65C when clocked past 820 on the core, try and keep it as close to 70c as you can.

That's a tricky one, since it's quite subjective. I reckon that it felt quite a bit smoother on some of the trickier (in the sense of 3d) parts of bioshock. I tried to objectify things a bit, and changed between default and overclocked speeds while on one scene in HL2. With everything on high detail, high AA/AF etc, I generally get FPSs in the hundreds (without vertical sync of course). But on one of the most complex scenes, where you are outside in that courtyard, it goes down to about 36 FPS (again it varies a lot depending if you are looking at a wall, or further into the distance, with more objects to render).

So with it steady at 36 FPS, I set the overclock, and it went straight up to 47FPS. So in that one particlar case it was about a 30% improvement.

EDIT - This is all at 1920 x 1200
