2007 Brazillian GP - Race 17/17

According to Holly Samos on R5Live, there almost certainly will be a penalty for all three drivers, but teams are claiming the rules have changed recently and they didn't know.

Poor excuse eh?

Didn't work for Ferrari in Japan. Hope the FIA don't bottle it ;).

there will be no position penalty. FIA cant ruin best season end in 25 years because of red tape. FACT! be a fine, ill put my mortgage on it

It shouldn't be merely a fine though. In my eyes that's a 5 position grid penalty. To claim the FIA wouldnt do that because its the title decider, well that confirms my belief that, to an extent, F1 is becoming a 'fixed' result.

It is fixed, look at the outcome of the Webber v Hamilton saga. Load of crap, cash the driver behind all of it.

From grandprix.com:

"Punishing the teams involved may be rather difficult as there is a very recent precedent of inappropriate tyre use which went unpunished, when Ferrari started the Japanese GP on intermediate tyres. Ferrari claimed that it had not received any notification of the order and the FIA took the blame. It will be interesting to see whether the FIA is allowed to make mistakes and McLaren is not."

And Ferrari did that on the race day, not practice. And also the weather forecast is set to be sunny last I heard, so again, little to no advantage to be gained from using 2 sets in practice.

Just heard on five live, they we mentioning the possibility of a 5 place docking. Which would be bloody ridiculous on a technicality, yes I realise rules are rules but that would be ridiculous. And in fact, why was it the drivers fault?

hold on, ill do some time travelling

*spins around and make whirring noises*

Time: 20:30 GMT

No drivers involved in tyre issue receive penalties, this was another publicity stunt ala webber v hamilton.

*spins around and comes back to type this*

Hmm some are now saying (with photographic evidence) that Hamilton used 1 set of inters and 1 set of wets... go figure...

i hope the stewards see sense and dont dock grid places, im nervous enough about this race.

Interlagos is a great circuit, but the start should be awesome, downhill into a twisty corkscrew of turns, i can see massa taking out hamilton and alonso on turn1

Well they shouldn't penalise them with position penalty. Its not the drivers fault just give the team a fine and all sorted.

I really am sick and tiered of all this "cheating", certain driver protection for this and that. We need a new impartial FIA. Everyone gets the same punishment, where ever they are in the championship. They should have a set range of punishment for foreseeable rule breaks.
