Albus displays a fondness for other wizards wands!

That's going to alienate quite a fair amount of children to be honest. Harry Potter really shouldn't be doing with this kind of thing - the readers don't need it. They just want a tale of magic and wizardry and good to triumph over evil and all that jazz. Not some lecture or opera on tolerance and sexuality. Bloody hell. Stick with what you're good at instead of trying to make a statement, Miss JK Rowling.

What's the problem? The whole series is about acceptance really and she's never mentioned this before because there was no need to, it was irrelevant to the story.

She was asked whether he's ever found true love and answered the question, it's not as though it's something she made up on the spot as she has pages and pages of back-story and character development already written.

It doesn't change the story in any way does it? Or are people so shallow that this changes their perception of the character to make him unacceptable.

It won't affect kids reading the books at all, the books don't mention it, so why should anyone really be bothered?

There are already statements about society within the HP books, such as pure blood/mudblood relating to intolerance of foreigners.

Gay people exist, are numerous, and are generally pretty normal people. I'm struggling to think of a reason why they shouldn't be included as heroes in works of fiction.
