I'd get a Quad Q6600, for another £40 to bump it to £1000, you might aswell spend it all.(Well £0.94 over

Overbudget but packed full of awesome:
Shame about those cheaper 20" monitors not having DVI input. 5000:1 contrast sounded good to me.
I skimped on the case here but it's worth it so as to afford a decent power supply. I wouldn't want to power a GTX on that Sonata's 500W PSU.

The case is all personal preferance but the P182 is a serperior case in the price bracket. The feautres such as sound proofing, compartments for better cooling and overal quality makes it top notch.
Also its mad not to get a q6600 with a good cooler and some artic silver to overclock it to 3.5ghz and 4gb of corse

Save a bit on that spec, Dave, and get the OEM of the CPU since you're replacing the stock cooler anyway.

I can't beat 8igdave's specification there although you can get the Hyundai ImageQuest N220W-D 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor for a few quid cheaper than the 20" monitor and if the budget is important then the Akasa Zen is a good budget case.

Of corse i would agree but was trying to keep to the budget. Hands down id vote for BFG. Already overclocked + amazing rma service and if bought from ocuk you get an even better 48 hour turn around serposidly (i beleive thats what gibbo said) asthey have made a deal with bfg and if they arn't keeping to it then Gibbo will give them a call
