Recommend a headset (Please dont move, i get more responses here)

The link for your soundcard doesn't work but genearly all headsets plug into all sound cards. Unless you got a very old one!

Generaly if your willing to fork out for a Sennheiser headset your going to get a very nice one.

But the logitech ones arn't bad either.

I didn't see music as well. id definitly go sennhesier and get a nice pair which will sound good for both gamin and music. Could get surround sound ones.

Dont get logitec as they just wont cut it for music.

Are you referring to a specific Sennheiser and if you are, which one, or are you just talking about Sennheisers as a whole.

Thanks

someone mentioned the AudioFX Pro 5+1, I wont mention where u can buy them from as I dont think im allowed, but has anyone tried these, and if so, are they any good?

Sennheisers as a whole. Just get which ever one your willing to spend money on. Is this a full time using headset or just went people are in bed etc? if its full time id probably spend the most you can afford.

On a budget i'd get the "icemat siberia's" if you absolutely must have a headset, i still think normal headphones and a clip on or desktop mic is better though.

Personally i use the Icemat Siberia never looked back and that was 2 years ago . white look pro but black can also suit a slack system set-up :D

for gaming i would defonatly recomend and the music is just as good

It will be used full time mate. I dont mind spending 50 so long as its justified, but just dunno which ones to get. AudioFX Pro 5+1 looks nice but I dont know anyone who has a pair, but they are supposed to be really decent by the reviews ive read. I would link but im not allowed due to the forums rules.

Then again Sennheisers are supposed to be the best, but im not sure.

Btw whats the difference between the top 3 here - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?&groupid=702&catid=22&subid=502&sortby=priceDesc

sennheiser HD515s for that budget, they can be had for about £40, for full time use comfort is key, and you wont get proper comfort with any dire "gaming" headphones, ive got the HD595s and previous to these i had: plantronics 90s, sennheiser PC160s, medusas(which i used for about 20minutes before selling them), and the HD515s. Would honestly NEVER go back to gaming headphones ever again

if you need a mic get an external one they only cost a couple of £

well im mainly a gamer too, played counterstrike source at a competitive level (playing with and against top tier european teams...albeit a while back now) and ive never had a problem with it, the ONLY time it becomes a problem is if you goto a lan

i just sit mine next to my monitor and everyone i speak to on ventrilo all the time can always hear me fine, not sure what else to say about it really

the PC166s look the same design as the PC160s i had, and they were awful, an hour of having them on my head and when i took them off my ears were hurting, sound quality for music isnt very good with them either (depending on wether they've improved them much from the 160 to 166s anyway)

EDIT: i wouldnt say they were only for music only, being a counterstrike player i obviously need to know where the enemys coming from, never had a problem with judging directional sound
