Hello all,

due to my Dad's recent purchase (git :p) how much do you think Porsche are going to charge him for giving a Carrera 4 ('03 Plate) the once over to make sure it's solid and nothing is wrong with it?

Thanks all :)

they usually give it a once over and then give it a warranty if its good.
not sure about the price though.

You can get a Porsche 220 point check. If it passes this check, you will be given the opportunity to buy an official Porsche warranty provided the car has FPSH.

Buy this warranty. It is excellent value and is one of the best warranties you can have.

Ah right, nice one :)

Well it's at the yard, one Dad pulled in, completely undamaged, he doesn't have any documentation with it (as it was stolen) will they be able to pull up services and stuff before from their system? providing it was taken to a dealer before?

Any ideas how much the 220 point check costs?
Cheers.

It's a few hundred quid. Ring Porsche UK about the FSH.

He also needs to ensure he is aware of just how much it costs to keep one of these on the road. It might be cheap from his yard but it won't be cheap to keep going!

It is actually the Porsche 111 point check and if I recall its around £100 - £200, never had one done but sounds about right. If he wants a Porsche warranty and does not have one he will need this. If he wants to get his car checked over to ensure is straight I would advice one of 2 or 3 specialists who will do an even more thorough job.

Ah nice one :) - Who are these specialists? are they in the South East area?

LOL @ title!

The Bateman dealership group round here was rumoured to have been sold for £22b, but it later turned out he hadn't sold it at all.

I should have said "charge" instead of "cost" maybe a Don will be nice and change it for me? :p

Crikey, last I heard your dad drove a Diesel Maestro, sounds like a big step.

he still does, at the minute he owns

Diesel Maestro (hate that thing)
'53 Citreon Van thing (for hauling crap around)
1991 Range Rover with a custom V8 with a performance tune
1967 Mercury Cougar (has been posted in daily spotted thread)
T reg Triumph Speed Triple
various lorrys
and now he's bought the Porsche.

He's also insured on my car, mums car, sisters car, and he's got some special insurance with his company which allows him to drive anything.

Insurance companys sure do love him, was quite funny when I added him to mine "does your Dad have access to any other vehicles?

"err....." :p

Sister: "hello?"
Me: "sorry about that, I dropped the phone, sure I'll be there in a minute"

Dad: "Hello?"
Me: "Hello, it is with great pleasure that I inform you that the Maestro has broken down!!! wooo!"
Dad: "Yeah she told me, don't worry about it though, only a fanbelt, it'll be running next week"
Me: "****" /o\
