Anyone else currently sat cold at their desk? I've had a search on the intwerpweb and found the legal minimum requirement is 16c, it's 17c in here, but my hands are freezing :(

What are your offices like?

Warm and toasty sitting in the server room with the window open :p

room temperature is currently sitting at 25C :)

Always hot because the daft bint next to me is always cold. :/

She's sat there in a thin top too. Cow.

25C in your server room?
Ours is at 18C and if it ever got to 25C I'd be calling in for portable air con units sharpish.

I normally win these arguments. Given the choice, the office would rather the cold people put on a jumper, than me take off any clothes:D

I'm dying! It must be over 30c in here, you could cut the air with a knife. had to turn off heating and open doors and windows.

we have a portable air con unit.

we have also had quotes for full fixed air con... unfortunately this is not a "worth while expense"

so i'm still toasting away... summer is fun, it's been up to 45c once or twice.

Ours is usually too bloody cold, too many fattys in here with their extra insulation...

I just wear a jumper now :)

I'm wearing a t-shirt, jumper and fleece, but im still cold, it's my extremities that are the problem.

I'm sure when the servers die they'll reconsider that.

yup... thats what I'm kind of waiting for :p

so far the Servers and computers in this room have survived. Although my ears do start to bleed once all the fans are spinning up at top rpm.

Was freezing, but now wearing a thermal corporate jumper lol

However its always cold in here... because I sit below the Air con in the summer ... its like Winter all year around

pefffff 16degress. You wuss, work outside, so it's whatever the weather is doing, then in certain places add wind chill on. i don't mind that, the summers worst when it's really warm. You can get yourself warm, but you can't cool yourself down.

We had this problem a few years ago, so the IT dept made a decision to turn off all the servers when it hit 40C and refuse to restart them until we had assurances.

Burnsy

Most likely, you're outside doing manual work? I'm sat still in an office not getting any warmer.

The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 (Statutory Instrument 1992 No, 3004) require only that: 'During working hours, the temperature in all workplaces inside the building shall be reasonable.' Section 1 (Environmental criteria for design) of CIBSE Guide A: Environmental design, suggests for offices that the temperature range for comfort should be 21-23ºC in winter and 22-24 ºC in summer.

IIRC 22ºC is the best temp for humans.
