Hey there,

a few of you may remember a while back i asked for opinions on what car to buy next... I currently drive a 1997 VW Golf 1.6 CL 5 door (wow!)

well today i've put a deposit on this for pickup late this week :) :

Its a Honda Civic 1.6i Sport, Manual, 34,000 miles, Registered May 2005, Milano Red, ABS, Air conditioning, Body coloured bumpers, Cloth seat trim, CD/Radio, Drivers airbag. 1 lady owner, Full Honda Service History.

So, what do you recon? and what would you guess as the price ?

£6k sounds about right for a couple of year old 1.6 hatchback.

But of course this is a Honda Civic 'Sport' so it's probably worth something crazy like £10k.

Not bad I guess. Whats Sport about it, are there racks in the boot for tennis equipment? ;)

nothing other than the looks (same extra body styling as the Type R) and 16" alloys and twin exhaust outlet as standard and i *think* the seats are slightly sportier...

its stll a 33% BHP increase from my woeful golf tho :)

pretty much all the looks of the Type R even if it doesnt have the get up and go, but I bet youve got A/C :) nice car!

yes, and ABS! go me :p

whole idea was to get a more reliable / afew mod cons (ABS or EBS -whatever it is / A/C) and the honda VTEC is a nice bonus

thanks :)

would annoy me paying all that extra on a R and not getting A/C, I cant believe in this day and age a/c saps up that much power dunno what other reason it could be as its offered as a dealer extra for £1200 or so :S

The VTEC on that is purely an economy VTEC - none of the high-power, high-revving lark you get on the higher models. You'll probably not even notice it's there most of the time.

However - it's a nice looking car, you should be happy with it as an upgrade from your Golf :)

yeh i appreciate its not the /Jeremy Clarkson Voice "Poowwweeeerrrrr" version, but yeh, it does 10MPG more than my golf (45 instead of 35) apparently so cost less to run too :)

get the clutch checked :o

hehe, true true, she openly admitted to her other half driving it but he has a subaru, so if he wanted fun i'd of thought he'd go for that, but yeh your right its probably had a little bit of stick from time to time :)

Woooosh!

I think he meant the terrible clutch control women seem to posses, not that it might have been opened up once in a while! ;):D

Get some type R wheels and perhaps drop it 30mm and I reckon that's reet tidy :)
