Whos ditching 8800 for new rev?

Yeah Will not long to go now, reviews of the GT will be up on Monday, if its as good as supposed to be, then get yer 2900 up on the bay, even if 2900 prices do drop because of it, your still not gona have to add to much to it to get the GT anyway judging by the prices that are getting bandied about, and you wont have the poor Dx10 performance, the poor AA performance, and it will be a lot smaller due to single slot, and wont need as much power.

I'm going to sell my 2900XT today or tomorrow, and play RCT2 on my old celery 1.2 rig alll day long untill 8800GT.

Is this right or wrong thing to do? can someone please tell me.

thanks.

Also if it was using DDR3, I would think it may possibly get lower fps than with DDR2 with the current DDR3 been not as developed yet or something.

Are games struggling with your setup?

Lower FPS between DDR2 and DDR3? You will see zero difference in games.

The likes of Easy and myself love Tech, its an hobby. Do we need to upgrade like we do, errr no but its fun.

mate chillout and enjoy your current card/rig.

Enjoy my card? I cant use AA lol everything lags with AA, thats why I'm wanting to downgrade to an 8800GT to upgrade if you get me coz it seems to perform better.

So you think the 8800GT will be a good upgrade eh?

I think the 8800GT for the money would be a stonking upgrade for people with DX9 cards.

For you, ummmmm, difficult. I would probbaly say you would need something faster to see a bigger difference from your current card. The issue you have is the resale value of your existing card, it will drop through the floor.

If I was you I would probably sell now and pickup a cheap GTX after the GT is released. The GTX will be better than the GT for AA.

For a new card I can only afford around £200 providing my 2900XT goes for £170.

you got only a couple of days to sell it. when 8800gt comes out, your card gonna be worth no more than 100 quid.

no chance. theyll still sell for close to 200. maybe lowest (no box cables etc etc) 150.

i have a 640mb gts, and a sli capable board. when the GT is out, and i see CONFIRMED benchmarks, i have several options:

1) sell my GTS, buy the GT (probably no money actually being spent)
2) keep my GTS (cost is nothing, but its a boring option)
3) Buy another GTS, from the many GTS's that would be sold on (probably the most costly option)
4) sell my GTS, and buy 2 GT's (again, might cost a bit, depends on release price)

bonus with 2 GT's is that it consumes less power, so my PSU (antec trio 550) wouldnt be pushed quite as far as with 2 GTS's. also the bonus of them being faster, but id like to see more benchmarks, and hear some peoples opinions from here when they are out.

Buy the GT, I doubt the GTX's will drop to £200. I would have thought 2nd Value of GTX's will drop to around £230 ish a few weeks after the launch.

I also wouldn't count out ATI just yet.

I'm currently running a 7600GS and will probably buy a GT and then keep that until the 9800 is released.

I'll probs just get a GTS unless the GT's beat the old GTS's, I'm gonna get me system running right and overclocked with me new mobo then put the 2900xt up for sale on MM for 170 and see how well it does.

Just sold my 320MB 8800 GTS on MM, now to wait for the new cards... :D

You jammy git! I thought there were only people on the bay who would pay that!

Looks good for my EVGA card then. I was just going straight for the bay but I think I will try it on mm for the same as yours. ;)

I can flog my 2900XT for the same price that I originally paid, so I can "upgrade" to 8800GT for zero cost. Should I do it before it's too late? Thing is I'm not sure I trust those results on the Chinese site but they seem genuine enough.

Any word on when HD3000 series is out?
