I had something sent before 17th october and i'm still waiting. I tried the tracking thing on royal mails site and says it's not been delivered yet.

If it was sent 2nd class would it still take more than a week ?

Hi,

With the recent strike action, there will be a major build up of mail that still needs to be delivered. Since your item is 2nd Class and is not either Special Delivery or Recorded, i would say it could be even more delayed.

You can speak to one of their customer service advisors on 08457 740 740. Lines are open from 8am - 7.30pm, Monday to Friday, and 8am - 2.30pm on Saturdays.

This is driving me nuts. I've been waiting a week and nothing and I need the god damn books I ordered for my assesment in a day, play.com I ordered them from and nothing. It's an absolute joke. Too bad they don't have a delivery option, otherwise I would have paid for next day.

Well, our service is ridiculous. It's now 2pm and there hasn't been a postman down our street today.

I'm waiting on 9 packages, dispatched from the 1st to the 20th. But, what do you expect from strikers... they're hardly going to jump back to their jobs are they. *rolls eyes*.

Honestly the Royal Mail is garbage, even the postman round here is sloppy, has all the mail in his car and we don't get mail until 2-3pm. We need another proper postal service as this is beyond a joke.

Items we sent out on the 9th by First Class Recorded are only just arriving now!

Everything sent after that date has been a lot quicker, and now most are getting there next day again.

From what i can tell the backlog was dumped in a warehouse, and the items that went in first are coming out last.

I've been waiting on 4 items from ebay that were posted by different people on the 12th.

1 turned up to day crushed flat, hopefully the others will turn up this week in better condition.

I send a letter to the tax revenue during the strike, the revenue said they have 4 weeks worth of mail built up now so i have to wait until mine gets to the top of the pile, maybe yours is the same with royal mail.

I still never received my insurance docs from the last strike. So i wouldn't hold too much hope. I think they have a large filling cabinet called bin and burn.

Can we not sack them all now? As they're not striking.. it'd be legal.

Unfortunately that wouldn't help the mail backlog much would it. And even when they were striking didn't the high court say it was an illegal strike anyway, so they could have been sacked and prosecuted lol!

Anyway I don't like the idea that certain items have been "disposed of" to clear the backlog.

Im still waiting on 6 phones ,some RMSD and some Royal Mail Signed .
Have had ones delevered this week that were posted monday but not ones from 2 weeks ago.:(

All those people waiting on packages...

DHL (Ebay) Do couriered delivers up to 30Kgs for only £4.99 , for parcels there is no reason to go near the royal mail again..

Mines back to normal, had a package despatched yesterday via 1st class and it arrived today :) (although a little late in the day for my liking)
