So... yes its a brilliant case and i doubt ill ever have another case which is such high quality, not to mention easy access and excellent cooling. But whats the next step?

Im a bit bored of it now and fancy a change, but all the cases produced these days seem to be crappy plastic things, is there anything out there?

Wishing id never sold my brand new and boxed black widow now (even though thats still a 201)

P.S. Before anyone mentioned Lian-Li, i dont think they've really progressed from the old school coolermaster days, still just producing aluminium boxes with no character (mostly).

Really? I thought that was the low/mid range Silverstone cases? I recently had one of their HTPC efforts which was very well constructed, although if I'm totally honest I can't remember if it was pressed steel on the inside.

The one I was thinking of was:

However, it is really pricey - about £200.

Personally, I'd stick with your 201 :) I love mine, it's lasted 5 years and various builds and it still draws praise from people who haven't seen it before.

Silverstone are good but I dont think they have the same quality as the 201's and my trusty 101.

I have an Intel Server chassis which is actually made by Enlight I believe.

The Lian-Li PC-A12 actually looks quite nice, but once again they ruin a good chassis by scrimping on the finishing touches like the power/reset buttons etc.

On the upside it's only £90~ for an aluminium case.

Having both a 201, a A16 and built a couple of Silverstones in my time I'd say the Silverstones are the closest to the old Coolermaster ATCS cases. In fact Silverstone is where the ATCS folks went when coolermaster decided to go "consumer".

Silverstone cases rock, just wish OcUk sold them ;)

Burned_Alive,

is your case silver?

if you get a new case can i buy off you 2 of the 5.25 inch blanks and the power button... i was wanting a new case but if i can get those bits ill restore my 201 to its former glory.

hope you can help me out, hehe

Jason.

I have a 201 a Wavemaster and a TJ07 Silverstone in black and I must say I am impressed with the TJ07 the main shell is one piece solid aluminium 6mm thick on the main edges 4mm inside the curve, even the side panels are 2mm thick solid aluminium.
The only steel part is the motherboard tray which is nicely chrome plated.

They are around the £200 mark now but that was the price of the 201 when it was new.

If you can have a look at one at a shop as photo's can be not as nice as seeing it in the flesh. And if I were you I'd keep the 201 as they are becoming more and more rare when in original condition.

Hope this might help you find your dream case :-)))))

If you appreciate build quality you could try and get hold of a windy case - even harder to get hold of than the classic coolermasters though - and priced to reflect this.

If the altium fc700 had a twin 120mm rear exhaust for mounting a watercooling rad it would be absolutely perfect.

To get one you either have to get someone in japan to order it and forward it on, or get one second hand that someones already imported - but most second hand ones are in the states anyway - are very rare and not really any cheaper than buying new.

Love my 201, i've had it about 7 years, it even has the poo brown side panels!

(+ a big hole for window that i made before you could buy them)

...it's seen better days though.
