Been trying in Leeds to find a pair of good walkign boots that will be ok for pavemnt walking, when i ask in the sports shops in leeds they look at me as if im mad...

Anyone got boots that are comfy and able to survive walking on pavements. i know i can buy trainers, but would like some good stout boots.

Shops in Leeds dont seem to want my money...

I had a pair of these a few years ago.

They're very comfortable and don't look that out of place when walking about town.

Fair enough, but i want good walking boots, not trainers to go walking around Leeds. there are some big puddles and high curbs too lol...

Guess ill have to buy trainers then lol

good set of merrils

my trainers have vibram soles but are still as comfy as a pair of slippers and with a goretex layer are waterproof and dont make my feet sweat

really no need for boots....boots are there to provide ankle support when walking on uneven or loose surfaces..round town you dont need them

I'm thinking... ...but all I see are idiots who aren't looking where they are going, twisting their ankles.

colinuk, if you are one of these idiots I suggest getting some Doctor Martin corrective boots. That should hold your ankles in place. :p After all, they were originally designed and intended for spastics...

standard pair of cats will do it - thats all i wear these days - go through a pair every couple of years, and thats with a LOT of pavement walking.
