Hi every1 well I test drove a mk2 focus yesterday and was simply amazed!

I really like the look of the zetec climate, I'd like to go for the 1.8 on a 56 plate that way it will have roughly 2 years warranty left n i can pay the loan off in 2 years aswell.

How much would you expect to pay for a 56 plate zetec climate 5 door with less than 10000 miles?

Cheers guys, oh and does anyone else own one on here?

ive got a 1.8 tdci estate

Great car... does everything well imo

Good ride/handling, enough power and decent equipment.

An ideal all round car.

Yer it was the build quality and ride that did it for me , also that gearbox is pure bliss!

I was going to go for the 1.8 petrol, as I wont be doing many miles.

Is the servicing reasonable?

Hi Mate

That was me above..

Anyways, servicing for me is free under company car thingy.. but it appears to be reasonable.

The quality of the car is far better than the mk1 imo, and yes the gearshift is very nice to use.

I would recommend you get the sony mp3 stereo fitted, its a nice unit.

Overall I really am impressed with the car. Its a good drivers car for everyday use, and i get about 45mpg with a heavy foot.

I have a ST2 on an 07 plate & love driving it. fuel economy on mines total carp tho, but thats to be expected :) great cars, my dad has the tdci, which I use for long runs and get about 50mpg when using that. I love the look of them too, allthough mines all boyed up with stripes and stuff!!

what else have you test drove?

From the first post it sounds like the first thing you have tried, try all the alternatives before commiting. Now untill jan is the normally the best time to buy a car and its a buyers market

Hehe I hope also to have a such a car in a few years.

I foudn the astra to be a nice car too, more chrome and fancy bits but on the road it wasnt anywhere near as good.

Better equipment i think, but driving it was no where near as fun and it didnt feel that solid on the road.

Have got the week off of work so shall be test driving some cars this week, I have already test drove the focus all be it a 1.6, so I plan on driving the astra and also a focus 1.8.

What other cars are there for around 8000-9000 second hand that arent obsurd insurance?
