Whos ditching 8800 for new rev?

just wanna see what prices we gunna get now.seen about six different models and all different prices.

Err isn't that normally the same. look at the 8800 GTS listed at ocuk. More than six different models and prices ;)

Anyway Gibbo has already said ocuk 512Mb will be £140-£150 inc and BFG EVGA oc versions £170-£180 inc

All I do now is sit and wait, monday morning I'll be watching the screen like a hawk and ordering one of these cards, I just hope we get some benchmarks abit before monday.

A site has got a Club 3D 8800GT 512MB going for £134, I hope Gibbo can match this.

Nope, that's the bait I used on Gibbo to post his prices. He reckons the best ocuk will do for theirs is £141 unless he negotiates an extra discount ;)

yeah im personally going for the cheapest and hoping to oc it quite high and xtremeforums will have some reviews of card deffo monday might be before as someone has one on there already.

What discount you think?

It would be nice if he sticks em up for £141 and throws a game in :D

Judging by 8800 noise I'm guessing it should be silent, allthough the small fan is abit of a concern.

Does the 8800GT only have 16ROP's?

The stock heatsink on 8800GT seems very weak though, that chinese site recorded temp of upto 86C during intense gaming and that's without any overclock...

I much prefer a dual slot cooler even though it might be a bit overkill with this card.

Anyone know which cooler will fit this card, the same site says the old X1800/1900 & 7800/7900 coolers will fit so I wonder whether my Accelero X2 will work on one of these?

EVGA 8800GT OC, 700/2000, wonder what the shader is 1800?

Review
Overclocking GeForce 8800GT 512MB version of the results even more surprising, and NVIDIA GeForce 8800Ultra flagship products are the only gap of 319 points.

Saw this.

So I guess the 256bit buss really aint that limiting by the looks of it.

So will the 8800GT in a PCI-E 1.1 slot actually be slower than in a PCI-E 2.0 slot?

Guess not.

Don't think the increased bandwidth makes a difference, just think of the difference it makes going form PCI-E x8 to PCI-E x16.

If you look at the review I just posted it's done on a 680i and the OCed GT gets close to the Ultra, doesn't look like the older PCIe is holding it back. x16 has a ways to go yet before its bandwidth limited, however x8 can be saturated with a 8800.

well this is frustrating

on the asus mobo forums, some people say that no, sli 8800 GT's WILL NOT work on the p5ne-sli, and that it wont even work on the 680i. where as others are saying that yes, sli will work with 8800 GT's on the p5ne-sli.

anyone with a p5ne-sli wana buy a couple monday and tell me if they work? lol

Does that mean that i'm wasting my time running 7300gs in sli on P5NSLI as i understand that on this board 1 card = x16 and 2 cards = x8 each?

after looking at the wikipedia article about this, im quite tempted to get a SLI motherboard for my planned rig i will be buying and get 2 GTs in SLI, if the prices on wikipedia are correct, 2 GTs will be slightly more expensive (maybe even the same) as 1 GTX, but should hopefully provide better performance.
