How do you pronounce it!

When i first came to this forum and saw a thread with a comment from Spie, i saw his av and thought, oooo the top dog! But more to the point, I've always pronounced it in my head as spee :/ it only really occured to me the other day its spellt EXACTLY the same as spie, then i felt rather stupid

Anyone else pronounce it spee?

also on a side note, why does my word checker keep underlining spellt or is it not actually a word
