How far do you live from your ground?

About 10 minutes to Bramall lane in the car (With no traffic), take's about 25/30 minutes on a match day though.

arrghh..... i live about 5mins (in car) away from hillsborough! not been for a while though... it's too depressing!

5 minute drive :)

Hands up all those who were surprised that manyoo fans live furthest from the ground.

I have to admit that growing up, me and my mother were the only Chelsea fans I knew.

Since the Abramovich era there does seem to be many, many more 'fans' showing up.

About 2 hours on a good day. Was 3 hours last year due to being in Lincoln, but was about 50 metres from Sincil Bank. Someone get closer to a stadium that that :p

I support Boro, and live in Gravesend, so i'm ages away...but I watch loads of Ebbsfleet games, and I can walk there in 3-7 minutes

There are 2 local teams, Kassam Stadium (Oxford United), which is about 20 minutes by car, and Oxsrad (Oxford City), which is about 3 minutes by bike.

Stamford Bridge is about an hour away.

Last time I checked I think it was about 4,500 miles to the Emirates Stadium :D

BUT over here the U of L stadium is about 8 miles away so that will have to do!

Why should it be a surprise?

The smallest clubs tend to only attract fans from that particular town and so the average distance is going to be pretty small.

As the club gets bigger and more successful, then the fan base is obviously going to be a lot bigger and the average distance will almost certainly increase.

With Man U and Liverpool being 2 of the biggest clubs in England, then it would be a huge surprise if the average distance wasn't pretty high for them.

Both clubs will almost certainly have a similar number of 'local' fans as any other Premiership club. But with the larger fanbase, they tend to also attract fans from further away (more so than a smaller club would).

Anyway - to answer the OP. I'm about two and a half hours from Pittodrie. Used to live closer (just under 2 hours) and living up North they were still the closest 'big' team. Did occasionally go to see the local sides play, but it was only a couple of steps up from a kick about down the park! Not exactly enthralling football ;)
