Crysis Kills my 8800GTX

Was this a beta demo or has the real demo come out? If its beta then of corse its going to run like a pig.

Also wait for new drivers to come out after launch and i suspect it will run a lot better.

:edit: do you even have the current crysis drivers installed? Also did you hike up AA a lot? Specialy on ATI cards AA kills those cards. But i think youll be waiting for some better drivers before hiking AA up

i ran it yesterday before my pc went down the creek (going to reload today) and it was running fine on high but on ultra high fps went down a lot. i was not using the new drivers though which make a difference. :)

The beta is fairly optimised - RAM use is quite minimal and even VRAM is generally under 400megs (with high settings) ultra high probably uses a good bit more VRAM...

Make sure your using the latest beta drivers as they doubled my FPS in Crysis overall and increased my minimum fps by almost 4x.

Still I don't see any one getting playable fps with all the settings maxed out with less than 8800 Ultra SLI and a fast CPU.

If your running it under vista with ultra high settings and DX10 it does use a lot more CPU.

DX9 all settings high I get about 45% useage on each core.

Talk of selling cards upgrading rigs etc and its a beta demo (i think cba to check if REAL demo is out).Shocking yes i know full well that crysis is going to be demanding game but changing video cards after playing a demo kinda makes me LoL @ you guys for thinking it sorry no disrespect ment but it does.At least wait for the real demo due out today i think.

Fair enough to the develepors of Crysis. They've made a next gen game with stunning visuals and gameplay, why shouldn't they be able to show off all they can do. In short time people will be able to play it at full settings on the Next Gen cards.

i had problems with crysis the game was extremley laggy and fps were a joke however after some researching i found out that most ppl were having this problem with top end rigs. i turned shadows down to low and post processing down to low and AAX2 turned on mouse smoothing and the game was 100% better and a lot smoother hope this helps anybody having the same problems

Demo isnt making use of quad core either it seems, and ati performance is horrible :(

You can read below (links are allowed?) benching the game with a 8800GTX and an ATI 2900XT and the ATI won all the test including with AA

http://www.bilgiustam.com/?p=125 Maybe the site is a joke ;)

I get between 15-25FPS with my rig with all high and not AA and the beta drivers (BTW I get some occasional textures corruption); find difficult to believe the GFX tested in the website are getting over 60 with 4AA and 16AF

Works fine on my 8800GTX. 1920*1200, all settings on full, no AA/AF and I average about 25 FPS. But it's very smooth and more then good enough to play on.

the gtx is old now tbh, I wouldn't expect it to run the game maxed out @ a high res, we're using a gpu that is over a year old now thank about that, due to ati dragging their heels the gpu market at the moment has stagnated, but that doesn't mean that software industry hasn't continued to evolve and innovate, and going from I've seen in the Crysis SP demo it definitely has, on my rig @ 1920x1200 I'm pulling about 25-30 fps at high, I like 45+ for Single player first person shooters really and 60+ for on line shooters, so I'm not far behind, I think the proper next gen gpu (9800gtx) will run this game like a dream.

Speaking of the 9800GTX, can anyone give an estimate for when they think it's going to be released? I'm not sure I can hold out on buying a 8800GTX, especially if it turns out there's a long time to wait for the 9800s...

"Test Vista üzerinde Nvidia Forceware 100.65 WHQL"

Forceware 100.65? lol? how old is that?

when you say hold out on buying a 8800gtx do you mean the current GTX's or will you be waiting for the new revisons ?, if not then your better of buying a 8800gt when they are out on monday (presumebly) and will only cost arounf £150 and they perform nearly as well as currunt gen GTX's.

blimey downloading it now, 8800GTX struggles?? ?! :( hope its not finished code per say. Does it still look ' ZOMG ITS THE BEST THING IV EVER SEEN' on 'medium' settings ? if it does, then well done crytec
