Hey,

Looking to take the girlfriend away for a night or two in a few weeks time to somewhere special. Only problem is, I honestly have no idea where to take her.

Any recommendations on nice places / hotels to go for a weekend?

Cheers

UK or outside?
How will you be travelling?
How much do you want to spend?
What do you like doing? e.g. walking, art galleries, nightlife, spa....

Just the UK, and by train hopefully :)

Spend, maximum of about £400-£500. No idea what we'll be doing, depends on the place.

Wouldn't mind some shops :p Not really sure apart from that, open to ideas though :)

Dono if it the kinda special you after but I taking my gf to the metro centre and letting her shop for a weekend (also giving her some money to spend while there)

Hire a camper van and tour around the lochs in scotland...

Hire a canal boat and tour around?

or for a lazy day, blackpool?

Maybe have a look at web sites that hire out big houses for a night, castles and the like and see if you can get into one of them, got to be fun for a night or two with a big bed like that...

London, It's an amazing place. Never fail to have a great time.

Get a hotel around hide park. Nice easy reach to everything.

Great night-life
Museums
Vinopolis
Parks
Shopping
And tons of other places.
I can understand why people hate living there, but for a holiday I simply amazing.

I should have asked where you were coming from as well.

At the moment I'd have to say somewhere like London, York, or Bath and then find a nice hotel, a few decent reastaurants and maybe something like a show or a pampering day for her.

im taking the other half to Paris at xmas for like £400..

Paris is bloody expensive when you get there though. I was there for a couple of the Rugby games, and although prices were probably up a bit it was still £6 for a pint of larger.

Come to York, it is fab. Lots of great resturants and bars. Crap for nightclubs though....

Easy to get around and to get to on the train.

I had an amazing weekend away in Brighton a couple of months ago; absolutely gorgeous, although I'm not sure how great the weather would be at this time... otherwise, would definitely go back to Bath - also a beautiful city.
