We moved into a semi detached 3 months ago, prior to moving in i knew that next door rented, now after about 6 weeks of being in here i never heard a peep from them, never any noise at all. Then about 5 weeks ago the chap from next door came around and informed me he was having a party that night (sat night) fine i said no problem thanks for letting me know.
It was loud, it wasnt music just v v loud shouting and talking with the back garden doors open so it just goes straight up into our bedroom, i wasnt that bothered as he had told me about it. Then the week after the same again, doesnt start until about 1.30am as i assume they come home from pub/club, he never said anything to me that day about having a party but it was very loud and went on until around 5am, again no music just shouting and people going mental.
Then nothing for 3 weeks until last night when it happended again, didnt go on as long, but was a few hours (1.30am till 3am) and its pretty much impossible for a light sleeper like to me to sleep through it.
I know they rent as i have since spoken to the previous owners and know they had the same issue but never did anything about it.
Should i just accept it?, people have a party and its maybe twice a month, am i being a bit unrealistic, or perhaps i should firstly and have a word?. The reason i havent so far is because i know they rent so likely dont care, i also dont want to make things worse, its a fine line between living with it or having a word and them thinking sod u and having more of them.
Also council wise what are the chances of them even batting an eye lid to it? its not that frequent and its not music so i dont know if they would do anything anyway?
Thoughts....
I should also add the house went up for sale 2 weeks ago but then came off the market, so maybe they are leaving anyway, i dont know.
