Lovely shots. 5 is the big of the bunch for me, as I just like the reflection. I'm wondering if it's shopped though, as I'm just curious as to why there isn't a reflection of the equally high land to the right of the castle?

Just serves to remind me that I've never actually been to Scotland. In fact, I've rarely been long outside of Yorkshire (excluding uni) :o

What sort of processing method do you do on these images, especially 7,9 and 10 if you dont mind me asking? You seem to have a really nice processing method on the majority of your shots, just cant put my finger on it though...

very nice work :) Kind of stuff I intend to be taking when I get off my arse and go out to take them! What lens out of interest? Looks like a nice super wide?

Tom.

Sigma 10-20

Excellent stuff as always Mr.Khan! Same goes for your other holiday threads. The last stag one, thats a keeper! That 300mm f/2.8 doesn't look to shabby either, best impulse buy ever? :p :p

1 and 2 don't do much for me; perhaps I don't see much in the foreground, but after that it's wow! 7 is my favourite.

Blimey! These are excellent!

Not so keen on 10, the subject is a bit boring IMO, and the jet stream detracts from the image also in this instance.

Number 6 is a little bit dark, but the others are generally stunning! Keep it up ;)

As usual Amazing shots, Really love number 4, do you sell big prints lol?

Cheers. If your genuine about buying prints, then please feel free to contact me on the email in my trust. Prices start at £25 for a window mounted A4 print. :)

Nope, not been shopped (Other than the obvious B&W conversion and toning, and a bit of dust removal etc). The reason you can't see the land to the right of the castle in the reflection is because its set quite a bit further back in the scene and is infact across some water.

How have you manged to hardly venture out of Yorkshire? Fair enough Yorkshire is a lovely part of the world (Im a Yorkshire lad myself), but theres plenty more out there to see. Book yourself a holiday to see the world. ;)

The processing varies a lot on these images. 8 and 9 have had very little done to them other than dust removal, slight level tweaks, contrast boosts etc. 7 however has had loads done. I painstakingly cloned out loads of bits of stones, and dirt from the sand. Ive used a lot of dodging and cloning. Ive also run a noise removal filter on a copy of the image, which over softened the whole image. I then used a layer mask to reveal detail where I wanted it, while retaining the softness and ethereal nature of the filtered areas.

As alexisonfire has said, its the Sigma 10-20mm, although 2 and 5 were shot with the 30mm f1.4

Cheers. Aye, its a bit of a beast the 300mm f2.8 Im going to have to do some proper tests on it though as there are far too many shots coming out with mis focus. I think it might be back focusing slightly. The other problem is the the cameras focus retecule often covers the more than the target focus area so doesnt quite know where to focus. Do any of the higher end cameras (D200, D2Xs) have smaller focusing reticules?

Thank you. I actually thing the jetstream help to balance and give a focus point to the image.

Fantastic selection :)

Cheers.

No. 4 and No. 8 for me. I also quite like the bleakness of No. 6.

Thank you :)

That would explain it then.

Well, as a family we've never really taken that many holidays due to my parents jobs and a general lack of money. At the moment, I haven't bothered getting around to driving yet, as I can't have my car at uni anyway, so I'm generally limited to where I can walk or go on public transport. I did go to Indonesia this summer though (which actually reminds me to put some pics up of that) and that was the first time I've ever been further than France (and that was a school battlefields trip). It's weird speaking to visiting students here to find out in a few months they've actually seen more of the UK than me.

Ooo, Indonesia, im Jealous.:) One day I would love to go traveling. I mean really travel and spend a few years going by foot, boat and 4 leg beast to exotic places. My ideal venture would be to start off in Malaysia and work my way around the Indonesian islands, ending up in China. One day :)

I don't drive myself, so I have to rely on public transport or walking. Its certainly do-able, but driving would make life so much easier. Ive even got a driving liscence, but I just hate driving.:(

I do suggest you go if you can. I went for four weeks and it was the trip of a lifetime (literally for me). I did 2 weeks in the jungle - 1 a survival course and another doing a bird identification course and working on a survey. Second two weeks were on a small island where I learnt to dive in the first week and then again worked on some surveys in the second while doing my advanced scuba course.

Fantastic place, though. The people are really great, the food isn't too bad (though you do have to be careful) as long as you like rice, and Indonesian is a really simple language to learn too.

Won't comment on these until I get home as this monitor isn't calibrated, pics look lovely though mate :)
