i thought faster than 8800 gtx/ultra cards werent coming until after christmas?.

well the revised GTS and GTX cards might be when they appear but already the lessor one in the range released today (8800GT) is only 3% less than a GTX

The soon to be released 98xx series might achieve that but not the latest revision of the current 88xx series. Nvidia pulled a similar launch last year just before the 88xx series they introduced the 79xx which pretty much pounded the 78xx series and then in turn a few months later the 88xx had its day...OMG... I see a pattern very vague but... its forming...bump. My apologies I havn't been well from my last Nvidia card purchase Sept - Oct last year, I feel a fix comming on

hmmm, still reckon it might be close.

the lowly 8800Gt only 3% behind in raw power to the GTX at stock speeds. pre-oc EVGA at 700Mhz will have 13% more raw power than the GTX.

With a faster GTS coming out in a fortnight which at stock has got to be faster than the oc GT so pre oc'ed the new GTS will be around 30% faster than a GTX which just leaves the revised GTX which could indeed offer 50% gain over the current GTX

Just thinking about the 79xxGS a late Nvidia release caused a stir also, a very affordable card that ended up being clocked beyond the 7900GT spec in some cases.
