K800 dead - any advice?

Hi guys,

On Saturday my K800 froze when trying to make a call via my car kit (as it sometimes does), but this time it's not turning back on at all

When I connect the battery, mains charger or USB cable and try to turn it on, I get a flashing red LED from the IR port

I've even tried another battery in it - and it's killed that battery, meaning my GF is now without a phone, too

I'm resigning myself to the fact that it's dead - but if anyone knows of ANYTHING I can try to get it back to life, it'd be greatly appreciated - mainly because all my contacts are on the phone, and it'd be a bit of a pain to have to try to get them all again Let alone the fact I'm now without a working phone.

Mine died due to a problem with the EROM.

This fixed it:

1.Download wotanserver and remove your SIM card (www.wotanserver.com )

2.clear the login settings

3.press start and wait

4.press and hold 2+5 and connect your phone

5.wotan will now upgrade your erom

6. when it's finished take out your battery for a minute

7. finished

No problem. I once spent an entire Sunday afternoon searching for the answer to this after mine just randomly died!

i sent mine off to get fixed with se a few months ago, they wouldn't fix it because of water damage (i've never gotten it wet) anyway they wanted £12 to send it back so i just left it. It's been disposed of now and i bet that trick would have worked

Very handy, this fixed my K800i last week which died when I got my K850i.
