Lovely Wolver-ampton!
My new kit arrived on Sat, but the northbridge heatsink was hanging off by one plastic clip and the other was broken :(

Have set up an RMA for an exchage as I can't guarantee how much the bashing the chip has taken, or the board during transit.

There are no DS3R's in stock at the moment. The P35C is in stock, and it's the same price. What is the difference? Should I swap for that or find out when OcUK are getting the P35 back in, or get a refund and go elsewhere?

Confused dot com.

Have a look here...

http://www.giga-byte.co.uk/Products...List.aspx?VenderType=Intel&CPUType=socket+775

Check out the spec of both the above boards and then decide which fits your needs. :)

Be aware though that when you look at the above link and compare the boards you will in all probability find that they will have only the revision 1.x boards in stock and not, as yet, the revision 2.0 that can be shown on Gigabytes site.

I have the GA-P35C-DS3 (rev. 2.0) and let see what is 'missing'.........

Only four SATA II ports
Only 1 LAN port
No Firewire

can't think of anything else...?

As mine is the revision 2.0 it has 8 USB 2 ports on the back I/O but not Parallel or COM port, they are on internal headers.

I think either will do. Dont have more than 4 USB items but I do have a powered USB hub with 8 ports on.

Have no firewire items.

Only need one LAN port.

So, either will do. Guess I'll swap for the C if it's in stock, as its the same price. Assuming it's revision 2.0 but don't think it matters if I get rev1 does it?

For me I wanted the revision 2.0 of the board in my sig specifically for the USB ports on the I/O - having three internal USB headers, as the revision 1.x does, was of little use to me. Unless there are other changes (some have talked of a difference in the cooling on the boards) I don't know. I do know that the bios is different for either revision, so maybe there is something other than just the placement of the ports etc etc etc....?

Either way they are still great boards. If you are used to buying from OC you will have the confidence of knowing that if things go wrong they are pretty good at resolving them.

I had to shop elsewhere to find the revision I wanted.

Actually...

the P35C looks a bigger board.

Will this still fit in the Antec NSK4480 case I've bought??? Have just emailed OCUK to say dont mind which board I have but then spotted the P35C looks bigger!!! ARGH nightmare...

Not trying to offend you but did you bother to look at the link that I provided because if you did and then checked on each of the boards that you are interested in you would see under the specifications the dimensions of each board..!!! :D

Sorry - trying to write an assignment. Have just spent an hour queuing in the post office. I just wanted to know briefly what the diffs were regarding the 2 boards - didn't think about sizing at all, so I didn't look at the complete spec sheet. Just saw that the pics of the 2 boards werent the same.

You never mentioned it was a bigger board, which, to me, is quite an important factor (8 USB ports - no neeeeeed!) :)

Appreciate the help tho.
