I admire thier work...err...i mean...d'oh.

I don't think its the acts of killing that intrigues people. It's usually because serial killers can often have a bit of psychological ground behind them. Who they're targeting and why. Getting inside the killer's mind to try and figure out where they're going to strike next etc

I think that interesting is the key, rather tham likable.

Peope are facinated by killing because it's generally repellent and something that people struggle to do (I remember reading some research that 85% of soldiers aim high, either on purpose or subconsiously simply because taking another life is so difficult).

Because it's such an alien concept to most it's becomes interesting and we want to understand these people.

This is why probably the most talked about figure in WW2 is Hitler and not Churchill, Stalin or Roosevelt.

I've read that. They were talking about world war 1 specifically though. It's probably still true today.

I think its because they are doing something that is illegal, immoral and exciting... something that they will never do... and some people just want to understand I guess...

I'm not a fan of serial killers and criminals I have no admiration for the people who are monstrous enough to commit these crimes. But i do find it fascinating, I often read true crime books and books on serial killers *shifty eyes*. I think it is a mixture of curiosity of what drives people to do these things and learning more about the world, even the advances in technology in catching and convicting criminals.

because everyone is sadistic! When we hear bad news such as 9/11 we all go, 'omg!' 'wtf!' 'get the terrorists!' But in the back of our minds we are also thinking, 'Thank god i wasn't involved'

I'm fascinated by the Zodiac Killer because of the cryptic codes he left, his bravado and the way he taunted the police. The fact that he was never caught and the murders have never been solved, it's like something from a horror film.
