Anyone own one? if so do you recommend it?
Is it a good buy?

I am looking for a good 40+ inch screen with 1080p, and these seems to be the best price/performance

My friend in devon has one, he made my very green with envy when I saw it in the flesh. Its the one I intend on getting when I finally move into the house im still waiting on. Its the best priced TV for spec vs brand as far as I can tell. All the reviews I have read bang on about it. So yeah its a fantastic tv.

This is what I keep telling the mrs and I will make her see. :D

I have the 37" version & it has fantastic image clarity - one of the best on the market from what I've seen... the only place it lacks slightly (and I mean slightly) compared to a similar samsung is the contrast ratio... the blacks on the tosh aren't quite as good as on the sammy... but then the samsungs have 800:1 and the tosh is 3500:1... but the actual image clarity is better on the toshibas :)

Bought this set recently and in general I'm very happy with it. SD picture looks very good, 360 and PS3 look decent on it, there's just one thing that is annoying me. When watching Blu-Ray's, the ghosting is very bad and it's really putting me of watching them, it's not got to the point where I don't notice it yet.

Has anyone else had a similar problem with this tv and sorted it out (presumably through adjusting the picture settings) or am I just going to have to get used to it?

My mate got the older 42WLT66 model (1080i) and the ghosting and blacks are very bad on it...

(I can't say what this newer model is like myself)

I have the 37" WLT68 with the 100/120 hz scan mode, ideal for gaming :)

I believe the 42Z3030DB is a good choice of tosh, 1080p with M100 and loads of other techy bits. not sure if its out yet though?

Maybe not a great idea to buy it, but that's just my view. Still a sublime tv in certain areas.

Image banding is just too annoying, especially in football matches and on other SD material with large patches of the same colour. About 5-6 bands clearly visible about 2-3 inches across.

Also, judder on blu rays can be annoying in some parts of various blu-rays.

Otherwise a stunning tv, and its HD quality is simply breathtaking using the user 'runtime' settings off avforums. PS3 games are the showpiece of the tv. I haven't been brave enough to figure with the engineering menus settings, but the parents wouldn't be too happy if i broke their tv, even though it's in the 2nd lounge and solely used by my young brother and myself.

O, and what price can you get it for ?

I have the 42" and I love it. HD/PS3 is fantastic, Sky is hit and miss depending on which channel is broadcasting and there is no ghosting/blurring (at least to my non-videophile eyes).

The new Z series is out soon so it may be worth waiting - a word of warning though, you can fall into the trap of waiting! Once I bought my LCD it was such a relief purely for the fact that it was all done and over with!

Previously I had a Panny 26LXD52.

about 6 to 7 months ago,I was going to upgrade my pioneer 43" 436xde 720p plasma to the pioneer 50" 507xd 720p plasma....

But am so pleased that i held off rushing out and buying the 507xd and that i waited about 6 months for pioneer 8th gen 50" 1080p plasma's to come out....

Sometimes waiting a few extra weeks or months can really pay off in the end....
