i've been questioning to buy or not to buy a wii, im getting back into gaming got a 360 but havent played it that much for ages, the wii looks a good get of fun, but wanting also to find a good package available for it aswell, any reccomendations? push/pull factors to consider

Don't bother. Why not get some of the new games for your 360 rather than buy something you'll probably lose interest in after 2 weeks?

Best console for rayman raving rabbids by far.

Resident Evil 4 wii edition
WarioWare
Wii Sports
Metroid Prime: Corruption
Trauma Centre: Under the Knife

All of the above games are excellent and due to the Wiis control system are a completely unique experience that no other console can really deliver.

Brain Training
Mario Strikers
Zelda

Those three are excellent games, not unique as such, but deserving of merit.

Tempt me to buy a Wii
I dare you to buy one, i double dare you. ;)

Single player games that are just as good as the best 360/PS3 games, and arguably better:
Zelda: Twilight Princess.
Paper Mario.
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
and probably Mario Galaxy.

Add to that loads of good party/active games and you have a console thats well worth its asking price.

Its small and white and makes a random cool blue glow out its CD drive

only to find out its a crappy MP3 preview channel or ANOTHER message from Nintendo about some error they made... lol

I would say wait nearer Christmas. No point yet but just hang on a little longer.

If you do decide to get one, then I wouldn't wait till Xmas, as I reckon they'll be hard to get hold of yet again. The pulling power of the Wii has yet to abate, despite being out almost a year now.

IMO if you complain about Wii graphics, then you have missed the point of the whole console. IMHO of course :).
Just to clarify, I'm not referring to the number of polygons it can shift or even directly comparing it to other consoles, I just felt that even using the HD lead the picture was always fuzzy for want of a better word.

Funnily enough Wii Sports seemed to have a clearer picture than say Zelda.

Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, it's just that I bought it as a family/party console and after an hour or so of play nobody could be bothered with it. The fuzzy graphics just spured me into putting it on the bay.

Managed to buy one today from the high street catalogue shop for £179.99, was the last one and nowhere else had them in stock, I'm undecided whether to keep it as i've wanted one for a long time, or sell it nearer christmas for mucho profit? Decisions, decisions...

IMO I've had more fun on the Wii than I have on any console, save maybe the SNES. I'm the same as you I think, I had an Xbox but hardly played it at all - the games were all very - meh to me, and have decided to not buy the 360 as I think it'd probably be the same for me. I'll stick to the PC for serious gaming, and the Wii for some light-hearted fun.

So anyway, why should you buy a Wii?

1) Wii Sports
2) SNES games on the VC for much retro fun/nostalgia
3) Super Paper Mario/RE4/Zelda/MP3.

Why shouldn't you get a Wii?

1) Need to also get the component cable (~£20) if you have a HD TV.
2) *cough* Prices are likely to be above RRP until after Christmas - make of that what you will.

Sell it, you should make a nice little profit :)

You could buy one, but good luck finding a likely candidate at the RRP. I've been looking both online and on the high streets for a few weeks now and still no joy.

It's really not that hard to pick one up for RRP, they pop up all the time if you look hard enough. I could have bought one from 3 different online stores yesterday for £179.99

Sure the stock doesn't last very long but they're out there. In fact at least one place still has stock as I've just checked.

That's probably true, however most of my day is usually taken up by that work-type-thing. This prevents me from combing the net every few minutes.

title "Tempt me to buy a wii" not "Tempt me not to buy a wii".

now off the fanboyism, Loads of Great titles coming out soon and out now.

Zelda : Twilight Princess
Mario Galaxy
Mario Kart Wii
Resident Evil 4
Super Smash Bros Brawl
Sonic & Mario @ Olympics
Excite Truck
Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles
Final Fantasy - The Crystal Bearers
Table Tenis
Super Paper Mario
Endless Ocean (if you are into relaxing games)
Trauma Centre : Second Opinion (was great on the DS)
Mario Strikers : Charged Football
Wario Ware Smooth Moves
Eldees
Kororinpa
Guitar Hero III
Pokemon battle revolution (if you are into the pokemon series)
Pilot Wings Wii (Seriously cant wait for this sequel)
Kirby Wii
Bleach : Shattered Blade
Ghost Squad

Those are the titles i think will be the best of Q4 this year and Q1 next year. Theirs also Wii Fit if the price is ok for it. And the fact you can buy Nintendo 64 games, snes, sega, old classic games of Virtual Console, News channel, Weather Channel, Gamecube Support.

Some of those games are out now but the bulk of them will be out by January next year, hoep this helped.
