I live in the Isles of Scilly, 5 islands around 40 miles South West of Lands End, Cornwall
For some strange reason, Adidas decided to film a new advert on the largest of the islands (St Marys).
Obviously, for a community of 2,000 across all islands, this is a big thing.
Some local lads (14-16yr olds) went down one lunch time from the school to have a look at filming etc.. they like football, always have one with them, and though they'd have a kick around on a park near filming.
10 minutes later, Steven Gerrard walks upto them.
The kids were obviously in shock - most are liverpool supporters.. and he says
"So, are we having a game or what?"
And, to balance out the teams a bit, Michael Ballack joins in with the game.
They teach the kids tricks, then take them down to the local chippy and buy them all food.
This was yesterday - i've just heard that the kids went straight back down this morning, and had a kick around with David Beckham.
Nice that the players take a few hours of their time with the local kids (and video cameras or anything, so not for publicity purposes either!)
