Good scarey games !

Doom 3 made me jump a couple of times to say the least.

Yeah it is, I hear Jericho has about 4 hours play in it.

will have to have a look for them, i read a couple of his books a long time ago, books of blood volume 3, something to do with pigs, and a ginger bird, was twisted stuff!

Half Life 2, is quite eary if you can sink into the game enough.

Definitely the original AvP, as a marine!

I remember the first time I played it, right at the start of the game and turning round a corner to be confronted by a certain steamy pipe! Pooped myself right there... I swear it was a Xenomorph about to maul me

Condemned, easily the scariest game I've ever played.

Original System Shock, the CD version with audio logs. You can still play it a reasonable resolution but the sprite based characters and objects will be lacking in detail.

Play it with the lights out, sound turned up... give it a chance and don't be put off by the somewhat basic visuals compared to today's masterpieces.

Persevere and you will be rewarded

Doom 3 has scared me the most, I don't like things that jump out

Original Silent Hill was great too, so messed up in the school and hospital.

I thought Condemned wasn't scary, it was great fun! There was something strangely satisfying about thwacking those junkies around the head with stuff.

I'm yet to play the Cradle level on Thief...

It really has to be Doom 3 on nightmare with surround sound. If you don't have a surround sound, use headphones. Oh and don't play it during the day, that's just cheating.

System Shock 2 is kinda scary but being brought back to life constantly takes the edge off.

suprised noones mentioned the suffering, man that had some really freaky moments with them things (whatever they were) stabbing syringes in you when they jumped out of nowhere,system shock two had its moments with them crazy monkeys and sounds

Silent Hill 2 certainly.. and 3 has some great moments.

Nothing beats Condemned though. Genius.

yes loved 7th guest, the sound in doom 3 put me on edge i was always waiting for something to jump out at me even when nothing was there and i would jump when lights went out haha

oh sir yes, hell, had it on xbox years ago, the bit in the grave yard with the girly fire ghosts, or them little drilling worm things, jesus i knew there was another one i'd had that was ment to be in here!
havent played suffering 2 yet though.

I've got it, I'm only about a quarter of the way through. I don't know if it's to do with Vista but the mouse action is horrible. It may be better playing with a USB joypad like with Silent Hill 4.

there was that other game as well.. i cant quite remember what it was called, ghosts in a house.. it was scarey at the time.. i must have been about 10ish, maybe later saying that.
