Lovely Wolver-ampton!
What's the crack with getting a new screen with x amount of dead pixels?

After all, if I bought a new pair of specs and they were scratched, I woudn't accept them. Same with screens - dead pixels = imperfection (to me)

What exactly are the rules?

Thinking about getting the above mentioned screen.

Isnt it something to do with if they are in the middle of the screen you can return but if its towards the edge its luck of the draw.

I got the 22" version and that was fine of dead pixels

pixel policies vary from one manufacturer to another. Check the sticky for some information about distance selling act though, that might be useful if you're really worried.

this is from their US support section

The minimum number of defective pixels we allow before we will replace an in warranty monitor is as follows:

* For a 15" Monitor - 7 or more bad pixels
* For 17" and 19" Monitors -10 or more bad pixels
* For 21" - 24" Monitors - 17 or more bad pixels.

cant find reference on their UK site. Basically, unless you have absolutely loads, you will prob not be able to swap under warranty with the manuf

Yeah there's the DSA true... Just wondered what the stores actual policy was, if anyone knew.

Looks like I will be ordering it on Thursday anyway. :) Looks lush!!!

If you buy online you can just return it under the Distance Selling Act if it has dead pixels.

Most manufacturers will only replace if a certain threshold of dead/stuck pixels are present. I wouldn't accept any dead pixels though, which is where buying online and the DSA come in handy.
